Decided to take the rest of February of from efests, really hate all the bad feeling that is around at the moment, unfortunatly not in a good place personally so will get myself sorted and hopefully things will of calmed down when I return.

Love peace to everyone here and also to anyone that just pops in occasionally.

I understand, but I don't think there really is much bad feeling at the moment, just a highly isolated tiff on another thread. But still, do what you gotta do.

I'm really sorry if I've contributed to this, slodge. My intention was to get some understanding of the issues some people have, but it's just turned into another squabble :( I won't be posting on that subject again, so I hope you reconsider. If not, hope you'll be back soon.

Slodge hope you get to your happy place soon

I don't understand the bad feelings around this. Thread at all. Everyone's been welcoming to me

In today's news, my mate thinks he camped at bushy ground last year. Does anyone have any opinions on this as a suitable pitch for my first year!?

The thing about Pennards, or Pennard Hill is that it's on a slope, so most of it is fine. It's just the bottom of the hill that's a problem. The only full field I can think of that's problematic in w*t weather is the ground between Other Stage and Silver Hayes. Can't remember its name Oxlers maybe?

We've always camped on Oxlyers, on the railway track edge. Even in 2007 (where it really did r**n non-stop) we didn't get flooded out. I think the drainage was so much improved after the 2005 wash-out that there are few places left that are bad.

Not that it matters as it will be NFRNFC and wall-to-wall sunshine this year 8)

As for all the bickering, may I suggest that people don't get involved?! It's quite simple!!

Slodge- hope you are ok, sending love your way xxxx

Hi peeps, long time no speak :) The last few months have been crazy..... sold London house, moved to rented house in Greenock, bought flat in Glasgow, found tenants and let Glasgow flat. Went to Koh Samui for ten days....Christmas.... new year etc etc.... Just back from Oslo ... went to see Drop Kick Murphys there.

Plans for this year.... Bali end of March.... Brew @ the Bog begining of May, Bearded Theory end of May ( any of the NFRNFC peeps going? maybe a meet up?) Download then Glastonbury...... I am willing as a sacrifice the the Gods of weather to accept anything at the first 3 fests as long as its dry for Glastonbury.

Hope all are well. A belated merry xmas to all and happy birthday to anyone who`s b,day ive missed :)

It really depends what kinds of music you go for, and where you're likely to spend the most time. Bushy is good for the John Peel tent and Silver Hayes, but quite a trek from the Greenfields / southeast corner / West Holts / acoustic areas. My usual advice to anyone going for the first time is:

Have a look at the festival website, check last years lineup and the area guides, and figure out which areas really appeal. Then choose a field on the map which gives good access to as many as possible. I've only stayed in a few different fields, but someone on here is bound to be able to give opinion on whichever field you're thinking of.

Thanks for the tip gumby, last year I recommend several acts to said mate so I've probably got that email somewhere. I'll ratch it out and see which stage I recommend most for

Second guessing acts on stages sounds like the approach I used for my Geography O level. Enough said.

Pennards got sorted out after a very w** year! I've been going to Glastonbury since 2008, always camped there and not had trouble. It really depends on your spot, last year we were fine but some people near us had a few big puddles around them! Just be careful where you pitch.

I think our Jeffie camps in Dairy, He can help answer questions too.

Pennards is a bit marmite, some live it, some hate it! My lot camp there as it is in the middle, it's busy, always friendly, and I think if we camped somewhere else we might get lost!!

We like Dairy, you do tend to find people stick to the same camping areas. Near to the Other Stage, not far from the Park, not too far from Gate D.

It's bloody rubbish, don't even think of camping there...
