Yeah, she's been a bit feeble this morning, but reasonably cheerful. Her sick last night was linked to a small amount of milk, since she'd not been sick for at least 12 hours and had kept down some water + crackers in the night, as well as earlier that afternoon. Poor mite had only just recovered from her virus!

What do you think about Calpo/Ibuprofen suspensions? She has a slight temperature, so we've been giving her Calpol, but only 5ml (I.e. not her new 2yr old dose of 7.5) and avoiding the Ibuprofen for now. Good/bad on an empty stomach?

Sorry for banging on about my kid on here everyone else, especially the non-parents, but I've got a FRICKIN' PAEDIATRICIAN on the forum!

Really no imposition, Hats

Now, did we not have a clear understanding about no crackers in the night?!!!

OK, doctorly admonishing aside...

Paracetamol and ibuprofen are good for two things only - pain and fever reduction. If she has no significant fever, and is not in pain, then they will not help! They make you feel better because you are doing something, but they will not help ToddlerHats®

If you are going to use them (because they are clinically indicated/justified!) then does wise, assuming she is a 'normal' two-year old size, you could give her 10ml of ibuprofen up to three times a day, and 7.5ml of paracetamol (120mg/5ml strength - standard 'baby' Calpol) up to four times per day. Ibuprofen has a pretty low profile of irritating the stomach. On balance, if paracetamol does the job, I'd use that first in a vomiting illness provided there was fever and/or pain to treat!!!

Apols for banging the drum too much, but those kind of meds, whilst incredibly useful, are grossly 'misused' by parents (understandably) desperate to help their little ones feel better!

Let me know how we're doing, and remember not to push that tummy too hard, too fast...

Ben

I'm a precious little Virgin ready to be passionately ravaged by the big G

As for my erection unless something else peaks my interest I'll be going with this sexy piece of canvas
