yeah i suppose it just depends how much exposure this new album gets. i'd totally forgotten about him tbh but now remember the ridiculous amount of hype he was getting towards the end of his last album cycle. still don't see him as a Other headliner myself but i've been known to be wrong about this kind of stuff!

although Jake Bugg's placing on all of these festival lineups now seems like a massive mistake. organisers obviously thought his second album was gonna do a lot better than it did

He was pretty successful in a pre-mumford world, and songs you can't dance to have only got more popular since he's been away.

Do you only like music than can be danced to?

Thought Damien Rice had some decent songs actually. I also quite like ‘Babylon’ and ‘Please Forgive Me’ by David Gray, as well, so I’m probably best ignored. No way he’s potential headliner on the Other stage though. Fourth from top, maybe.

He's very hard to place...the majority of attendees would have no idea who he was? And if they did hear some of his stuff they might be terrified :P. Is he bigger than Jon Hopkins, who played Glade off the back of a couple of Mercury nominations and subbing Field Day (and is playing Brixton soon)? I just don't know.

Like you say, he would be immense on the Glade.

he's definitely bigger than jon, and he packed that tent out. reckon aphex on west holts would be cool but probably a little too curveball.

fucking hell

i honestly thought he'd be too big for that now, seeing as he's the biggest DJ in the world right now, but yeah, stick him on the Other Stage. seems like a good counter-act to Fleetwood

sounds like a quiet night at the park to me

I've been saying Underworld for a few years now, seemed like a good fit after the prodigy and orbital closed the sunday in 09 and 10, but has just never come to pass. I reckon they'd be amazing.

Chemical brothers have played in one slot or another fairly regularly, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them back either.

I'm probably totally wrong though, the last 3 years I've been totally surprised by their choices (mostly in a good way, Portishead was the best shout ever).

I reckon it'd be empty.

I know it's not the same thing, but around ten-ish years ago they headlined the 2nd stage at V fest, and there were less than 100 people interested in seeing them.

NIN and Libertines just scream perfect Other Stage headliners to me

The Libertines will no doubt be getting offers of Main Stage headliners at festivals next year. wouldn't surprise me to see them topping the bill at TITP, Reading/Leeds or at a push even V

as for Nine Inch Nails (as i've said before) i personally think they might be a tad too big for it now (though i'd love to be proven wrong) plus i think their Hesitation Marks tour has just ended

There's not much that would stop me being at NIN on the Other, but I can't see it happening.

I know they have a different lighting rig for festival shows, but this is one of the single best light shows I've ever seen:

Ive lost count how many times Ive watched that on VEVO, ive got an apple tv so can watch VEVO through my tv, simply stunning.

I've gotta say, NIN are definitely my favourite band out of the bands that I have got into recently. Everything about the production live and in studio is phenomenal! I think Trent Reznor is an incredible songwriter and capture ideas and progresses them to create tracks of a true genius. He definitely is one of my idols in the music world. I think every album has something going for it, but the stand out ones are absolute mind-blowing masterpieces (downward Spiral, Pretty Hate Machine and The Fragile (and almost Hesitation Marks)). The stunning spectacle of their live shows is awesome and although the light shows are something of an 'eyegasm', the set-lists to go with the lights are much more magnificent. In my opinion I'd adore to see them headline the Pyramid, it'd be bliss. But the shameful state of the current music scene means that they'd have to stoop to Other. shame because the music that Trent has produced is deserving of a blast through the PA system on the Pyramid.

The 02 show in May produced an pretty special setlist (especially from Wish onwards!): couldn't believe that We're In This Together and Beautiful Lie was left out.

by Beautiful Lie do you mean Terrible Lie? Beautiful Lie is a far inferior song by the much inferior 30 Seconds To Mars

don't think they've played We're In This Together since The Fragile tour, but it's one of my favourites

them doing that at some festival is my go-to NIN video. they're amazing live but them opening with that would just be perfect for me

It took me ages to realise what it was, out of pure excitement. It started and I was like "OH MY GOD" and then couldn't think what song it actually was, despite being one of my favourite few NIN songs.

I'm not even sure that makes any sense. It happens to me all the time when a band plays a rare/special song. I go mad at the opening notes and then have some mind block and can't work out what song it is.

fuck me, how did i make that mistake. agreed that it is an inferior song. Jared Leto and co could never write a song as good as Trent.

poor show by willutalk
