Also, don't we have reports from Ben Howard's people that he is headlining the Other stage on Saturday? Without any better info, I'm going to assume that's true.

It's definitely true, I have a good connection with one of Ben's band members and they're headlining the Other on the Sat.

Dance acts have subbed in the past, the visuals still work as the sun is setting, most recent I can think of is Pendulum in 09 before Franz Ferdinand.

Bloody hell, that brings back some memories. Pendulum are like a long lost friend to me, who quite frankly I probably won't see again. They finished in the dark and it all seemed very suited to the vibe.

I was on my stag weekend at glasto 09 and they were great, perfect for a wild weekend

Yep, the Knife Party project sseems to overtake Pendulum.

Purely why I hold a grudge against them.

With more succes Pendulum could have headlined Download or Reading I reckon.

Yeah, they got seriously popular for a bit after their last album before they disbanded. Which is odd because it was by far their worst album.

Despite that, I reckon you might be wrong. I'm pretty sure its mousey.

If Rudimental are heading Other Stage, how the he'll can they get that at Glasto and not be subbing T?, regardless of it being Scotland or not. They're not a main stage sub act yet.

But also as another remark, it stands against that I never saw Ben Howard above Other sub either.

Rudimental seem like a shite Other headliner, but i guess their popularity will skyrocket soon what with new material coming out so it may make more sense nearer the time (plus they'll no doubt have all the guests out with them etc). Ben Howard definitely makes more sense as a sub than a headliner as well - but it looks like my dream of Beck/Iggy fitting in there is gone

edit: although if you look at the written lineup (which there does seem to be some sort of pattern to), it seems like there may still be a sub left to slot in before Rudimental. definitely can't see The Vaccines taking that spot what with their monumental fall from grace

i'm guessing Suede are gonna have to be on the JP on the Saturday then otherwise that's a very modern top billing - Kanye and Deadmau5 for the young'uns, Mothership Returns and Suede for the oldies (sorry to generalise)

Hopefully for Suede, I'm surprised any type of dance act up against Kanye.

Were I a betting man, I'd go for Deadmau5 headlining the other on Saturday. which, I gotsta say, is an odd choice to go up against Kanye.

I tell you what, I'd put money on him having the biggest crowd of the weekend. More than the Who, I guess.

Thing is, Deadmau5 and Kanye on the two big stages, given the Glastonbury demographic means there's going to be a lot of older people wandering around with fuck all to do. A half decent headliner in the Acoustic/Avalon will see that field fucking rammed.

I'm sensing a theme here Mardy. It's time to admit you have a problem :)

Hehehe only ever bet if you're sure of the result

'One of these days in your travels a guy is going to come up to you and show you a nice brand-new deck of cards on which the seal is not yet broken, and this guy is going to offer to bet you that he can make the jack of spades jump out of the deck and squirt cider in you ear. But son, do not bet this man, for sure as you stand there, you are going to wind up with an earful of cider. '
