someone has contacted me to say that Alt-J have been offered a headline slot.

At this moment in time I've no way of knowing how truthful that might be, tho I'm inclined to think there's probably something to it.

Thought that the pyramid seemed most likely... Oh well hopefully it'll be up against a headliner I care about.

Yep considering it's the same stage and about 15 mins more than last time I thought it was Pyramid or nowt.

Pretty sure no other band has been promoted like it without at least playing one different stage in between (Bloc Party). Definitely a weird one if it happens. More of a R&L type of booking policy tbh. That's not a compliment . Edited October 13, 2014 by theevilfridge

i've never seen any live videos but i'd always assumed that they would (similar to The xx). music just seems to lend itself to the dark environment imo, and i imagine they have a lot of light show

Yeah thinking back I think all of their festival shows last year were headlining tents apart from Glastonbury where they might have been too big for JP that summer or something. It does seem more natural they headline Other than play to a Pyramid crowd getting a good place for a headliner. If they go up against Fleetwood Mac then I guess I get a rare opportunity to check out a headliner somewhere else than the top two stages.

Opposite FM would be a bit disappointing for me, although, as dental says, it'd be an opportunity to spend the night elsewhere.

Yeah FM vs Alt-J would be boring as.

I've never seen Editors so them headlining The Park or something would be decent for me, but I guess they chances of them being around are quite slim.

Definitely want Sigur Ros headlining Other another night though.

sheer hope, like every year. they'd be a perfect Other headliner (along with NIN) for me

and if the Calvin Harris rumour is still going strong then i can see him going up against Fleetwood Mac (although Alt-J would also be an appropriate alternative)

considering they released two albums in two years i doubt they'll be in a rush to release anything else any time soon. if they ever headline Other it probably won't be for a few years

I hope to God they do... I went to see them in Glasgow in March of last year but got far too drunk and went for a walk through (and getting lost in) Glasgow on my lonesome. The last song I have a vague memory of them playing was Sæglópur about 4 or 5 songs in. Seeing Popplagið live on the Other or anywhere at Glasto or anywhere else would be brilliant.

Yeah I think they have quite an impressive light show. They have to do something to make up for their complete lack of stage presence.
