Marina and The Diamonds has a new album this year - reckon she could easily be on the Other on an afternoon slot

Marina And The Diamonds made some utter bangers around 2010/11, I'm excited at the prospect of her coming back, don't know how bothered I'd be about seeing her perform, but new songs are welcome.

Not sure if his music or slot would suit the night time. Just like when I saw Jake Bugg this year in the dark-it didn't feel right - they both suit a sunny tea time slot more

I dunno, the new album's pretty moody, I think it'd work well in the dark. Or maybe a sunset slot? That'd be nice, Ben Howard subbing the Other

Any rumours for Ryan Adams to take one of these slots? new album, played the Invictus games thingy... just a thought but probably way off!

(or maybe sub-headline come to think of it...)

he isn't really one for playing outdoor festivals over here, the Invictus Games ceremony is pretty much the only time I can remember him playing outdoors in the UK/Ireland in his near 15 years.

certainly wouldn't be big enough to headline or even sub-headline the other stage. if he was going to playing Glastonbury, i'd say around 7pm-ish in John Peel.

would really need a more intimate/contained stage for the slow solo-piano songs.

realistically, i don't see him doing any UK festivals, let alone Glastonbury.

Howard is an artist who was wasted on the Pyramid stage, incredibly stationary and no dynamics in his performance. He really deserves Avalon IMO.

Yeah cause that's likely. He's a talented guy and I enjoy his music, for the most part though it's not suited to be being "dynamic" so not sure what one would expect.

I'd expect the Charlatans to play this year, probably on the Other Stage, mid afternoon.

One of my fave bands but they were not great at V in that time slot.

Judging by the size of venues they are playing on their up coming tour, I don't think there is any justification for pushing them up any bill.

The Charlatans continuing existence is one of those things that utterly baffles me. A couple of half decent derivative tunes 20+ years ago, and they're still around, still paying their mortgages off the back of it. In a sane and reasonable world, surely they should have been driving minicabs or working in homebase for the last 15 of those years.

Oops, just read the post above, sorry man, didn't mean to piss on your chips, just astonished that anyone cares about the Charlatans in 2014.

Haha no worries, we all have different opinions about music.

I think you are being a little harsh though Tim Burgess is an excellent song writer who always tries to evolve. I do not like the Charlatans new stuff (2010 onwards) as my tastes seem to have gone full circle back into electronic music. But he is far too talented to be driving a mini cab. Also Mark Collins is a fantastic guitarist. People like that need to be involved in music.

But it is still nice to hear them songs in a live setting. I think their current tour is about now their level. They have not kept their support which they gained during the Britpop heyday.

In regards to Glastonbury, I would definitely go to see them, even if it is the mid afternoon slot on the other stage.

You know that no headliner rumours are proven yet, right?

Also there's no way on this planet that Enter Shikari are big enough to headline Other.

Sub at most with maybe a bit of crossover but realistically it'll be a dance headliner up against a possible AC/DC. Edited by Couchy
