Be less sure. :)

What I said was that someone has told me that they are, and that the idea makes sense to me.

I've no idea if what i've been told is correct, as the person who told me hasn't (as far as I can remember) told me anything before. It could be 100% bullshit for all I know; it could also be something he's genuinely heard but is wrong; and it could be right, too.

As a booking for that stage, tho, it makes sense to me - it's something I could see happening. So my inclination right now is to think it has a decent chance of being right. But it could be wrong.

I love Mark E Smith. Whatta guy. The most famous John Peel band ever and they are banned from playing Glastobury.

He is really one guy that does not give a fcuk. I am going to buy Steve Hanleys new book

He was there with Gorillaz the other year, straight after Shaun Ryder and immediately before Lou Reed, a combo of proper bad boys that will never be seen again.

This is a complete fantasy, obviously, but what I'd like to see is Taylor Swift headlining Pyramid up against a(nother) reunion of Rage Against the Machine. I reckon little Miss country-pop would struggle to half fill the Pyramid field with that kind of competition!

hmm... you see this is my problem, you've got a band that were once urgent thrilling, vital and relevant, but that was 20+ years ago. Where's their relevance now, and why the fuck would anyone want to go and see them these days. You think they're doing in for the money any less than Taylor Swift? You think they're not just going through the motions to pay their mortgages. They're a tepid safe nostalgia act these days. The equivalent of going to see Freddie and the Dreamers in 1989.

(that said, I've just put on their first album for the first time in probably 20 years. They were quite something when they first exploded onto the music scene, eh?)

They certainly were something! But they're not going through the motions for the money, as they've not played or recorded since 2011 (I think). If they reformed and played all old stuff, I'd agree (although I'd still go and see them), but if they recorded new material and played a mixture of old and new, they could please old fans, and also introduce themselves to a new generation.

What about Bastille?

Headlining Other or subbing pyramid?

Go sit in the corner and think about what you have just said.

They beat Xfactor to Christmas number 1 a couple of years ago, that was quite thrilling, all buying the same track someone on facebook told us to, to oppose buying what Simon told us :P

That said the victory gig at Finsbury Park was bloody ace!

The National could certainly do it but they will surely be taking next summer off.
Sigur Ros would be the ultimate.

Hearing Popplagio live last thing in a headline slot at Glasto would be incredible.

Leftfield should be back with a new album before next summer too.

Must be in line to play somewhere in a big slot

They can and will still headline UK festivals.

you think? which ones? last time around they only co-headlined Reading and Leeds and subbed second stage at TITP, and that was amongst all the comeback hype. i'd have thought they'd be getting offered even lower slots these days, if any. subbing the likes of IOW seems most likely i'd say
