Other Stage Headliners 2015

I would still need to be convinced, reading and T they've got a great history with they festivals so for in perfectly, not so much with the demographic of glastonbury, though I would love to see it

Convinced? What more could they do to convince you? They successfully tour arenas, they've headlined R&L, IOW & T in the Park, their last album was number 1 & they've had 16 mainstream top 40 hits.

I am by no means a fan, but they're undeniably headliners. Especially considering the lack of 'new' UK based headline acts available.

I'm not doubting their credibility for a second, just not sure whether they are right to headline glastonbury, if they were going to book Metallica for the other stage last year then why not Biffy, either way I would love to see them there

I think people are going to be using that Metallica rumour as evidence to justify all sorts of unrealistic predictions in the future.

Biffy are big enough to headline the Pyramid now, so why waste the potential of one of the only UK bands of recent years who have made it big enough to headline by giving them a slot on the Other Stage & risk reducing their appeal to future promoters.

Metallica are a multi-million selling well established band, accepting a lower slot at Glastonbury because they really wanted to play (if that's what even happened initially) would not have effected their future bookings in the slightest.

Metallica was a different situation though. Them playing the other stage would have been purely because they were desperate to play the festival and it wouldn't have affected any future bookings, whereas that's not the case with Biffy. I'd also say Biffy are more popular with the Glastonbury crowd than Metallica.

I don't get how people can doubt the fact that Biffy Clyro are big enough to headline

I think that when most people think about it objectively, they would acknowledge that Biffy are, quite obviously, current big festival headliners, GF or otherwise.

I wouldn't watch them if they were in my back garden, but that's irrelevant to the argument!

I don't think they're ever gonna headline Glastonbury but if they were booked now or straight off the back of a new album they'd certainly headline the Pyramid.

We get doubters about all acts that have risen to the top over the past few years. Kasabian and Arcade Fire had a fair share saying they would be 'great on the Other Stage' or similar last year. Pretty much happening with The Prodigy and Florence now but obviously Florence's doubters haven't been proven wrong yet.

Why not?

They seem to tick all the boxes to me. Successful UK act, mainstream appeal (albums & singles), played the festival several times before...

Personally they do nothing for me, they're dull as dishwater. But I'd be surprised if they don't headline in the next 2 years.

I agree. I don't see why them headlining would be any less likely than the likes of Kasabian, Mumford, The Arctics. I mean they headlined TITP, Isle Of Wight and Reading.

Not doubting their success and relationship with the festival, and as I said they're headliners now. I feel they're declining in popularity and their window for headlining fests will shut in a couple of years, and some other more desperate festivals might scoop them before then. Just a hunch though really.

Course they are, they wouldn't have headlined the John Peel, done a park secret set and played third on the Pyramid otherwise. So nothing like Metallica in reality for a variety of reasons.

They might not be suitable if they done a setlist full to the brim of their first 3 albums. But they are pretty much mainstream rock band like Muse/Foo Fighters etc. now.

Pretty much happening with The Prodigy

Its a fair point with the Prodigy, I think. Hence them co-headlining with the Black Keys at IoW. Their not quite Headliners at major fests, but would make a very strong main stage sub/other stage headliner.

Florence people are denial and I won't deny them hope :P

I personally can't see the appeal of Florence, just not my cup of tea, whereas i don't like Arcade Fire or Mumford either, I felt they'd have a big enough appeal to headline, i just feel like Florence appeal should peak at this album and based on the fact they aren't headlining Rock Wercher, i feel they may have missed the boat? Albeit fairly assumptive to have that opinion, and a bias one at that (I find her to be everything i hate about the 21st century, a 'Look at me flailing my arms about, and being all wonderful', but really just being a pretentious Prick), I just can't see her time coming, Sub-headline definitely, but it's a big step, and i don't think it'll come, unfortunately, not something I predict for the biggest tosser of all, Ed Sheeran.

Also Rock Werchter is in a different country. Kasabian and Biffy don't headline there either. Editors do.
