Other Stage Headliners 2015

I really enjoyed the first Peace album.

They were dull at Reading though & I've heard some of their new album the other day, it was naff.

Yeah Peace's first album was lovely but I've never been bothered about going to see them.

Catfish and the Bottlemen are probably as bad as Boy Kill Boy. It's an internet forum full of people passionate about music so I don't think being dismissive of a band is particularly heinous.

I've seen Peace a couple of times, on the NME tour and at T and they were ok. Only 20-30 minute sets so hard to properly judge them live.

The first album was great though, really liked the Delicious EP as well. Not been too bothered about the new stuff bar Lost On Me which was quite good.

When most songs or bands come out, some people like them and talk about them, some people don't like them, never listen to them again and that's that. Once something gets popular people have to have an opinion. Hence the people who never liked Uptown Funk or Catfish and the Bottlemen, but never talked about it, now coming out of the woodwork to say how shit they are.

Uptown Funk - Brilliant.

CATBM - Shite.

CatfishAndTBM - From the little I've heard they are pretty bland: I don't really see why loads are loving them, but I don't see why they are getting so much stick either (I have never seen them live or a performance of theirs online / on TV though).

Uptown Funk - Better than most of of the pop I hear when I briefly hear commercial radio / radio one. Something I knew my mum would like, and she did. It made me listen to James Brown, which is always a good thing.

Peace have been consistently good live whenever I've seen them. New stuff sounded alright at The Libertines too

this is the only live thing i've seen by them, but they seem fine really. don't get the dislike either, they're not going to change the world, but they seem much better than a lot of other popular guitar bands on the go, let alone other types of acts...

I think that could end up being the Latitude main stage line up.

What would the likelihood be that the same trio would head up a single stage at another (albeit bigger) festival...?

I'd say Alt J look more likely for the more modern band headlining the other this year.

Don't think Jamie T is strong enough to headline, he'd be better fitted to subbing the other I reckon.

Do you know, I would've thought that before seeing him on his recent tour, he really has got it, the new album has gone down a storm, it was one of my favourite gigs of last year, I expected to enjoy it, as Id seen him before, but I was shocked it was so friggen good. Plus if that moose Jake Bugg can headline, Jamie T most definitely can

I think it's been established that Bugg probably wasn't their first choice for other headliner, but lets not get into that again.

All festivals last year probably gave him optimistic placings on the premise that his second album was gonna be a massive success... And it wasn't, so I can't see him getting any bigger or him opening up the door to many smaller acts headlining big stages.

I assume Pixies played that slot to give people a chance to see them and Metallica?

Possibly the Other Stage lineup that night was originally meant to have those two bands?

Oh yeah I agree he's fantastic live, and would be great headlining Other, but I just don't think he'd be a big enough draw. I reckon he'll headline JP which will be cracking.
