My memories of it look like footage of a Sex Pistols gig , where people are going mental and the rest of society just might crumble under the irrepressible pressure of punk, I was genuinely surprised there was nothing in the paper about it the next morning, I was convinced I'd been at the epicenter of a massive cultural shift. In reality, it was very probably a bit shit.

speaking of which, Paul is putting out an album soon and he's touring. Playing some Orbital tracks too he said, video evidence of him prepping the tracks on facebook. Hope he is on the Glasto bill this year.

My first day gig was wireless festival 2009 to see kanye west and I was happy n-dubz were on the bill... I'm glad I've changed since then (LCD soundsystem was my second gig)

First gig was Slayer (with Nuclear Assault supporting) at Manchester Apollo on the South of Heaven tour.

As for Other Stage headliners, I suppose at least one night will be a massive dance act a la Skrillex.

That'll still clash with Foos I reckon if they subbed Friday's Other headliner. I don't think there's much danger of them moving up the bill though.

Yeah I'd say that's a decent shout. I was thinking if he played he'd probably be Pyramid sub/third but that works much better.

Foo Fighters was mine when I was 12 supported by Manic Street Preachers, was a pretty decent first gig. Next was The Prodigy a few years later.

Are the Chems still really that popular? I can't think of anything they've done for a long while now (maybe the cycling theme from the Olympics and the Hunger Games track). Mind you, I suppose that was true of Massive Attack last year.

Beck's surely too big for the Park stage, not least after the Grammy this year raised his profile again. As anyone who's seen him will testify, he'd be a great headliner. As would Hot Chip.

I also wouldn't rule out The Vaccines - however much people on this forum may generally dislike them (I'm not sure why, they've always been pretty inoffensive for me), the records sold well and, more importantly, contain a lot of songs that were played a lot on the radio. They played the O2 last tour, too, so the fanbase is reasonable.

Chems have enough hits and the stage show/visuals that they won't be less than headlining whatever stage they/he is on.

Hot Chip haven't done anything in the last few years to move to Other headliner. new single is more of the same, they're constantly touring festivals. JP headliner maybe.

hehehe, they were JP headliner in 07, you really think they haven't got bigger since then? They are definitely big enough to headline the Other, They'd nail it, I reckon.

You're right to say the chems haven't done a great deal since their last album in 2011... but they have a new on coming out apparently and if they play (other than a secret set) i can't see anywhere they could play bar other stage headliner...

The fact they have a new visual show is important too...

Not sure about Beck at the Park, saw him at Electric Picnic last year and he had a massive crowd and was also mindblowingly awesome.
