fav hotel bookings site for gigs etc

I used to always use laterooms though I don't book as many hotel rooms as I used to because a) we have kids and tend not to have as many overnights for gigs and B) at work we now have to book through our appointed travel agents. But the odd times that I do book now I use booking.com as they have some very good rates- for example a Premier Inn at half the price of the Premier Inn website. I find it a very easy to use site too. You also have trivago and the like that do the comparisons though generally I still stick with booking.com

I've had dealings with laterooms previously, and they're people who will say anything in the world - bullshit, lie - to try and get someone's business. I've told them to fuck off and never bother me again.

So I'm pleased to hear that other sites are popular too, which is what I was hoping to hear. :)

The only 4 I bother to check these days are:

- Trivago - As definitive a comparison site as I've seen

- Travelodge - Because I've not seen them on any comparison sites.

- Hotwire - Can sometimes score an absolute bargain as long as you understand what hotwire is / how it works.

- BookDirectRooms - Handles bookings for a lot of independent places not covered by the above sites.

Don't really do many for gigs...but if I am booking a hotel to visit somewhere in the UK..I am in the travel lodge or booking.com route. Seems to have decent rates and its easy enough to find quickly what you want.

Are we getting efestivals branded hotels near to gig venues? :P

booking.com has now been integrated into the website, so that there's a "find nearby accomodation" link in the main festival information box that's on every festival-related page.

You can also go to booking.com via the link in the (full skin, not mobile skin) main menu, or via the link below, and earn this website a quid or two in commission (whichy helps pay the bills). Thanks.
