Mardy
Alright, I'll be honest, I've been fretting a lot, but you know what, it's all going to come good for us all this year. Everyone on this thread (Funkyfairy more than anyone). Got a good feeling about it now.
Wakan Tanka
Fingers crossed for us all especially FunkyFairy (such a shame for you ) me personally have not seen a booking page since 2007
foolee
It'll be my first year trying, one of the big festivals I'm yet to do and want to check out everything that makes it so special. Going for a coach ticket and that'll be on my birthday so will be a nice birthday present to get them on the 1st October, wish me luck! pie_and_a_pint
2015 would be number 10 for me. Sadly I'm pretty resigned to my luck failing this time round, after my 'smashing' time at this year's festival. Sigh...
OBface
If you want I would happily try for you FunkyFairy. Only need 2 tickets for myself.
sjseabass
I simply have to be there...if I fail next month, is it poor form to sign up to work the festival somehow or other, try again in the resale, then ditch the job if I'm successful? Anyone done it? Because that's my current plan...
Slugworth
I have no fear. How much do you want them? Yep me too so you will all succeed.
UEF
Everyone who truly wants a ticket, and tries repeatedly throughout all four ticket sales (plus unannounced resales) will go.
midnight
Too bloody right. Got the same fear here. I think my old group has entirely evaporated! Between babies, 'growing up' and dubious life-choices they've all ruled themselves out of the running. Actually I think that might be tautological, the first two are just special cases of the third option. Objection to such generalisation about babies! My son came along for his first Glastonbury festival when he was 14 months old, and I would have taken him again this year - if only my F5 finger had been as lucky as yours. Mind, compared with FunkyFairy we are an undeserving cause....
Andeeroo
Tempted to try for coach tickets this year as I will likely be travelling up alone anyway. What were people's experiences of the coach ticketing process last year?
midnight
Several people say it was easier to get coach tickets. Not for me, though, I tried and failed, and so did my friend who was trying on my (and her own) behalf. You can probably improve your chances if you are flexible about the departure time (pick different ones if first choice not availabe), but I never even saw the booking page. admscott
How many years in a row do you think the price can go up a tenner before it's too expensive?
musky
I didn't manage to get tickets for the coach last year either. I think those who found it was easier thought so because they actually got the tickets. I the past I've got coach tickets when they were available on the Sunday and I've also managed to buy regular tickets within minutes of them going on sale. Other times I've not managed to get any tickets at all - it's just luck of the draw. Edited September 16, 2014 by musky
mungo57
I wish luck to all hopefuls in advance! It it sad I have already double and triple checked our registrations and noted them down so as to avoid a repeat of last years fiasco when the gf gave me the wrong details? Hopefully this year works out better for us!

UEF
How many years in a row do you think the price can go up a tenner before it's too expensive? Depends... a tenner is worth less every year so it would probably end up going up more than that!

I got through during the coach tickets sale, only to get a message that all the tickets had been sold after I had entered my information. Was heartbreaking. Thankfully it worked out the following Sunday, but I got the tickets like ten minutes before it sold out. So stressful. But the worst ticket sale I've experienced was for Pearl Jam's 20th anniversary in 2012. The servers crashed immediately and I sat around pressing F5 for 5 or 6 hours (me and thousands of others). It ended when the promoter had to give up and set up a new date, swearing that only a few thousand tickets had been sold. 6 hours wasted, and having to dread a new T-day... grumpyhack
After a dozen or so Glastos I came away at the end of this year with our gang of six thinking that maybe I'd give it a miss in 2015 and try a few more fests I've not been to before like Womad, Cambridge Folk or Cropredy. But today I had my GFL Ticket Day e-mail and I'm now worrying that if I turn down Glasto I'll regret it. So I'm waiting on the rest of the gang to decide how they feel and will go with the flow. Equally I accept that if we do decide to go for it that the T-Day Gods may decide otherwise.
ghandi
The tickets gone up this year £15 on last year that I have been informed was £205+ vat ( I can't remember), Do we think this is a hike? Now £ 220 + booking fee so £225 + car parking at still possibly £20 ( I hope) makes nearly £250. Still not loads for what the festival offers but add on top of that your spending money of for arguments sake £ 300, then that's £550. When does a festival become too much money? JoeyT
Is the process still: Refresh ticket page from 8.30am (just in case - I got tickets at like 8am a few years ago but forgotten which year) When 9am comes refresh and see a blank screen or if fortunate enough a ticket holding page F5 again and get a webpage which makes you think you have gone back a step if anything. Scour social media to make sure everyone is having this problem. Open up more than one tab (it's got to increase chances right) 30 mins pass and you decide to try by telephone as well as refresh like mad 1 hour passes and someone you have on facebook but isn't a real friend puts a status saying they have tickets 10.05 am go back to refreshing once you're finished shouting expletives as they don't like the festival as much as you 10.20 index finger is beginning to get tender but sod it euphoria of ticket day makes you feel like superman 10.45 (approx.) get through enter reg details and bank details... get kicked out. 10.55 get a text saying a friend who has your details has got your ticket. Fist pump until your seeing black dots 11am post a witty remark on social media because nothing or nobody can take away that feeling... You've got a ticket to the motherland! *timings may vary ** there is probably more than the above mentioned swearing Feel free to add any other ticket day timetables!! 1
Padgey
Spending money £300?! That's a lot of t-shirts you're buying, unless of course you are not taking your beer/cider with you!
ghandi
Well possible, perhaps £250, I usually come back with a little . But I like to take more than I might need just in case. last year I didn't really take too much lager in, can't be bothered to carry it, took a lot of Spirits which I didn't drink all of. I would have to say I did buy a lot of cider/ beer last year. Yes you can survive on less that's true. But just the ticket price alone is going up year in year out. Not to say that at least for the next couple of years it will deter me from trying for tickets:)
Doug85
25 quid for a car park pass this year as well. My timings of the last few times ive tried to get tickets all ended without getting tickets so after hours of sitting there refreshing to then see the immortal message that all tickets are now sold out always depresses me. i hope to god i see the ticket page this year and i actually get them. Im even considering sending the wife to see her folks in the country to try in a less crowded area! i have to go to Glastonbury at least once!
Padgey
I have to agree the carrying of alcohol is a chore and I do intend to use the bars a bit more next, if I get a ticket. They can already sell all the tickets without announcing any acts so its popularity means people will pay the ticket price. The phrase that commonly gets mentioned when the cost of tickets comes up in conversations I have is "You could go abroad on holiday for that", my response is always "Yeah but you will not have a better experience than at Glastonbury"!
