kalifire
Congratulations you now have a phone from 2012 :/ T-day far more rewarding. Oh don't be such a killjoy. Yoghurt on a Stick
Trying for tickets this year again. Didn't go 2012 for obvious reasons, had tickets for 2013, let them go into resale, didn't apply for 2014. So a three year break and I am ready to go again!!!!! You still owe everybody a pint and a packet of crisps. I've not forgotten you know. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you get tickets for 2015. ICGenie
Does it tell the time? In five years time that question will be about as relevant as, "does your phone make phone calls" is now. 1

LondonTom
The crucial difference being that people want to use an iPhone. I've tried Android, it's horribly impersonal. Maybe if you don't explore it a little.... As the geezer at Apple said; they don't do things first because they don't do them until they can be done properly. And to what end have they done anything properly that hasn't been done properly yet already?
ICGenie
And to what end have they done anything properly that hasn't been done properly yet already? Difficult for me to judge without the new iOS being out and having not used an Android a great deal but I do have friends who had trouble with the typing suggestions, especially in the early days. Third party keyboards (and other add-ons) we're always a security issue. Bigger phones are not really a sign of progress IMO - I have no interest in either a Nexus 4 or iPhone 6 as they are too big for my hands. But for those who do want a bigger phone, the iPhone is lighter and (I believe) it has been sculpted to be more comfortable and easier to use. It also includes a "reachablity" feature to make it more user friendly for those with smaller hands (or "women" as we are often called) The watch has the same arguments. I'm sure Apple could have shoved out a watch years ago. Instead they been patient and created something that looks less like an 80s Casio and more like a proper watch. Android is all about doing things bigger and being first. Apple is about doing things better.

Mine just rerouted. My battery got a hammering that monthThe sheer number buying before full hands-on review comparisons says it all. Nothing against folk buying just for style and fashion, but gotta be honest with yourself about itThis is great distraction from t-day nerves. My group is in disarray, trying to pull together the thread of newbies and new-old-hands into anything coherent now
stuartbert two hats
Maybe if you don't explore it a little.... And to what end have they done anything properly that hasn't been done properly yet already? I think NFC will actually be useful in the iPhone - Apple have actually built an ecosystem for it. I'm a dedicated Android user, I got a Nexus 4 when it came out/and I don't think I've ever used NFC. A lot of the other points are spot on though. Android is all about doing things bigger and being first. Apple is about doing things better. apple is primarily about crazily overpriced tech. what you spurted above is classic apple zombification. you get vastly less for your money (apple is abhorrently overpriced). apple by inherent design have lockdowns to not allow people to do what they should be able to do on their toys, ie. at a most basic level transferring files from one to another. this is the most basic and brilliant thing of tech these days - sharing content and media. and then there's so much stupid wasteless bullshit like using their own usb ports whereas every other company in the world have an international standard. then there's the fact that a really decent bunch of your favourite websites from games to porn won't even work on an iphone. and there's no removable storage. and there's no removable battery. etc etc etc etc. can someone please tell me rationally what apple does better than others? what's the big deal, apart from the the big price? Traditionally, what they do is focus. They do a small number of things, but do them very well. They create devices and experiences that are simple and intuitive. Google/Android throw features at the wall, leading to more functionality, but cluttered experiences with half-baked features and no clear underlying purpose. I say, traditionally, but I think that's all changed now. The roles have reversed. I think we'd have a very different watch if Steve Jobs was still alive. Buzlightyear
Came here looking for ticket info. and now I know loads about various smart phones.... I want one with an app that guarantees a Glastonbury ticket, now that would be cool... then everyone would have this app, I've obviously not thought this through.... Not really, I'm no Apple fangirl. I hated Macs, had to use them at Uni and they were appalling. I use Apple because I get the phones second-hand from my hubby when he upgrades. I have an iPad as well and the link between the two is brilliant. I personally feel no need to upgrade - I agree that they are over-priced. However it's fair to say it would be a massive ball-ache for me to switch to Android now. I'd have to re-buy all the apps I've already purchased on Apple. And I've seen nothing that Android can offer me that is incentive enough to switch.
Avalon_Fields
If I get my iphone6 for ticket day and wave the NFC payments at the glastonbury.seetickets.com page/g2015 will that get me tickets instantly? Now....that would be a good investment!
