Where to camp

First post here,

It is my first time this year at Leeds and am wondering where to camp, we don't want to be in the rowdiest area but a friendly party atmosphere where you can get a few hours sleep!

Yellow is where all of the LADS go, so it'll be bangin' up in there.

And green is the quietest (I think brown's gone, right?). Red is probably your best bet; that's where I went last year, it's cool.

Sweet, how busy does it get around 8-9am on Thursday morning? (Sorry for all the questions!!!)

It'll probably be quite busy by then (I'm not 100% sure, I was asleep at that point), but I reckon you should be fine finding a spot, depending on the size of your group.

I'd come as early as you can tbh. As I say though, I've never been there and awake early on the Thursday, so someone else can probably give you a better answer.

It is pretty crowded everywhere by the Thursday morning so I would get there as early as you possibly can. The only place that is still empty is green

I get to reading at like 2pm on Thursday and always find a decent place to camp, I wouldn't rush tbh

Did it sell out at Leeds the last two years? Cos it was very busy by then at that point

Definitely didn't last year, people on here were deciding it was a doomed festival

I don't believe it did so I guess I'm wrong.

Might still be. A last minute sell out followed by two non-sell outs which could turn into three might seem like a profit leak compared to Reading reliably selling out. But realistically we don't know their breakeven point and it's very unlikely it'll cease in the next few years.

It's big but it moves very quickly. And not very. They only search a few people's bags and even then if whatever you're trying to sneak in is at the bottom they *probably* won't find it

Can you easily exit the festival on Thursday, to help carry in some more alcohol that other people have brought?

Yep, and you don't have to queue to get back in once you have your wristband; you can just walk straight through.

What about bag checks when going back in, does that take long?

Walk at the side of the path opposite to the bag checkers, and they won't even look at you. They just grab the odd person who walks right past them.

Oh so there is no queue, I was under the impression you had to stand in a queue and then they checked every fifth person or something
