Where to camp

Oh so there is no queue, I was under the impression you had to stand in a queue and then they checked every fifth person or something

On your way in originally, or when coming back in with more stuff once you already have your wristband?

Everyone walks down a huge path, and at some point on that path there will be some people at the side grabbing random people and checking their bags. Further down the path it splits into two - one way for people to queue, get their wristbands and get in, and another way for people who already have wristbands to go straight through. Then you're in the festival and free to have a jolly good time.

Do they not pick up on the people that walk on the other side?

Nope. The people doing it won't care at all, as they're just volunteers, so they just grab whoever's nearest and, therefore, easiest.

Probably like 2% of people get searched, and it'll be the closest 2% of people who walk past. Don't worry about it.

Just walk in carrying your beer like everyone else. If you look like you shouldn't have it, or are trying to hide it, chances are you're more likely to be stopped and searched/ID'd.

But if you're under 18 it's probably not a good idea to carry it. When we were under 18 we just gave all our alcohol to my 19 year old brother and our bodybuilder friend to carry, as they wouldn't be stopped.

I suppose it depends on how old you look, but if you look like you're trying to sneak things in, it's a sure fire way to get stopped.

For what it's worth, walked in last year (still 17) with a lot of alcohol, as did my mates. None of us got searched, and didn't see a single person get searched as I walked into the site. Really nothing to get worked up about, if it's that big of a worry you could always ask someone older to carry it in for you or go with them to tescos or something.

I always thought blue was "Lad" central, then again I haven't camped there since 10.

But I've camped in yellow every year since 11 and it's been great... or maybe i'm just a dick and don't realise it.

Yeah this is what I thought too, I remember on Sunday nights where Blue B just looked like one big bonfire.

I used to camp in red with my mates but for the last few years its just been me and my girlfriend and we go for green, might go somewhere a bit more lively this year. Just not orange and that fucking fairground.
