How did everyone find it this year ?

I might give it another go as it's ages since I've done one, the Murrey mints option sounds a good one. I've avoided chewy sweets like skittles an starburst in the past because I was told it didn't dissolve properly. Maybes they were wrong but didn't wanna waste a bottle of vodka trying

Yeah the chewy sweets didn`t work for me the one time I tried it ( skittles ). The color came off them but the chewy sweet didn`t disolve.

Okay dokay.

Quid-pro-quo time. One litre bottle of rum, nice spiced stuff e.g. Sailor Jerry, about half litre of gin.

Put 2-parts raisins & 1 part each sultanas & black currants into a tupperware box, fill with rum. Put glace cherries and fruit peel mix in a tupperware box with the gin. Keep in the fridge for 4 weeks, turning occasionally, more booze as it's absorbed.

Best mince pie mix ever. You bite them and get a wee boozy headrush. Crazy good.

Nice one. With all the talk of bar prices and folks getting caught trying to sneak a couple of cans in ( I had a lucky year ) we should maybe move these recipes to the smuggling thread !

If it sells out again next year we should petition for a tickets subforum, or at least some active moderation.

I'll try and sort something if it gets as silly as this year. Don't mi d tickets for sale but it got to the point where you didn't know what was available and what wasn't, then you got people who put a for sale on but never came back on to reply to people.

Back on topic.....I was there with a group of 10. All first timers, male and not exactly young; 35 -45.

First I a have to say we all had a great time

Very much liked the arena; big enough to get lost but small enough to find friends eventually. On minor grip is that I think that there's too much focus on the main stage, could've done with a larger second stage

Arrived on Friday arround 4pm to a very busy site. So busy the only decent space was the far end of the Shire. Without the weather the arena comute would've been fine but the mud it a bit of a trek. Campsite toilets we ok but not spreadout enough. No crime in our area and not too muddy away from the main tracks. Oh boy was there a lot of gear left. The team next to us must have left 100 cans of beer ! Shame we were too lazy to cary it up the hill back to the car onteh way home.

While not bowled over by smilling faces eveyone was friendly enough. Obviously the weather is a factor here. Truly amazed at the number of mud larks on the Saturday. (I'll have what they're on ! or maybe not). Thought the numbers dropped significantly on the Sunday, no doubt some of them were the aforementioned larks.

The dance area was a bit rubbish; poor lineup, poor implementation. All smacked of afterthought to me. THe Glow stage setup was garbage, too quiet and I think I could have had it looking better with a bag of decor from poundland. EDM is here to stay and has huge amounts to offer if you look. KC needs a quality curator with a budget to match.

On the subject of the overall lineup, yes there were some quality acts but overall it was v poor. Escecially when you look at previous years. No don't get me wrong, I buy festie tickets based on vibe rather than lineup but in this case it's worth a mention. Plenty been said on this already. Maybe it was down to profit taking by the management.
