Because they have said that Coachella was absolutely their last gig of the year for them. They have stressed this a lot so people don't anticipate any anniversary tour

Personal guess is Gaslight, as I can see them turning the offer down when the bookings were taking place but now fancying it given that their new album is out. Being an east coast band its not a huge effort to fly over here and they could easily add a couple of little 'album launch' shows after the festival.

I've convinced myself that this will happen, so its bound just to be wishful thinking!

Not quite, no. But close enough for a festival promotor to get away with it (I'm not getting into the argument as to whether Ally Pally is an arena or not!)
