Omg just read it online.I'm shocked and saddened.I knew him as an actor due to my age rather than his stand up but after I looked back and he was a great stand up.He was incredible in Good Will Hunting, one of my fave films.

God bless and RIP,I'm truely saddened.

Sad news, he was quite a unique guy, not always good, but always pushing boundaries. I won't lie, a lot of his films are utterly terrible, but his turns in Dead Poets Society and Good Will Hunting are special.

Mork: This week I discovered a terrible disease called loneliness.

Orson: Do many people on Earth suffer from this disease?

Mork: Oh yes sir, and how they suffer. One man I know suffers so much he has to take a medication called bourbon, even that doesn't help very much because then he can hear paint dry.

Orson: Does bed rest help?

Mork: No because I've heard that sleeping alone is part of the problem. You see, Orson, loneliness is a disease of the spirit. People who have it think that no one cares about them.

Orson: Do you have any idea why?

Mork: Yes sir you can count on me. You see, when children are young, they're told not to talk to strangers. When they go to school, they're told not to talk to the person next to them. Finally when they're very old, they're told not to talk to themselves, who's left?

Orson: Are you saying Earthlings make each other lonely?

Mork: No sir I'm saying just the opposite. They make themselves lonely, they're so busy looking out for number one that there's not enough room for two.

Orson: It's too bad everybody down there can't get together and find a cure

Mork: Here's the paradox sir because if they did get together, they wouldn't need one.

RIP

Really sad news :(

One of those constants all through my life from being aware of things from late 70's onwards really much like Rik Mayall I suppose. Both died so close together.

His stand up was great, and his acting in Dead Poets Society and Good Will Hunting showed a real departure for him.

So sad that it was depression too, such a horrible killer of people.

As has been mentioned; incredibly gifted comic and serious actor. Had recently been watching The Crazy Ones whcih wasn't particularly good but Williams completely carried it with his riffing and they ran a blooper reel at the end of each episode where he was always hilarious too. So devastating that someone that spread so much happiness being wrought by their own sadness.

Weird one to see this news, very sad indeed...but I can't quite work out why it feels so weird to have seen him die.

Remarkable also I haven't seem one sarcastic post about people posting about him across Social Media to! Just lots of clips of his great work! Which is good.

Very sad news. Robin Williams was a huge part of my teenage years. Several of his films are ones I watched over and over again. I know it seems ridiculous to be sad about people you've never met but today I have felt very sad. It's been a shit year for deaths of famous people that I actually cared about and who influenced me hugely.
