Enter Shikari

Interested to hear what you guys think of Enter Shikari's position at the moment. How high up the lineup do you think they can climb? Do you find their almost constant presence at the festival annoying especially now that they play minimum 4th down?

Even though they apparently went down not as well as usual from the footage I've seen they still went down better than 80% of the other acts that played; they'd have to either go down REALLY badly one year or become entirely irrelevant to stop being booked

I reckons they'll do download next year anyway, probably third down. Big fan myself and thought they smashed it this year but agree they should probably stay away until maybe 2017 when they might be able to sub off album 5. Or their popularity might have dropped massively by then.

I love Shikari and it was one of the best acts I saw all weekend for me. I think that they could probably sub at one point (at a push) in the future but I'd like to see them not play R&L as much as it would become tedious eventually to me

I doubt they'll ever sub; they're not an act with widespread appeal

They always go down great and they have a dedicated fanbase who go to as many shows as possible but I don't think that they'll ever be a huge ticket seller

I don't think they should play as often now that they occupy bigger slots. Even though shite like All Time Low will probably play instead.

They were really enjoyable this year, but their set was so short. They're at a point now where they have a lot of material they can choose from. I can see them subbing at some point, but nothing more. Would love for them to headline as they would deserve it for working so hard, but as it has already been said, they are always at the festival so over exposure will never allow them to headline.

I wish I liked Shikari as I have been to at least 12 festivals with them playing.

I had a great time this year, would love to see them have a crack at headlining the NME. But I really do not think they should go any higher, it's not justifiable.

They went down very well at Download in 2013 however I walked by their crowd at Glastonbury about 5 minutes before they came on and it was barren

Might play a big venue on the new album tour next year. Suppose it all depends how well it goes down and if it has a few singles that get airplay.

The band played a good set but when I saw them headline their own show it was much better. Was stuck in a complete crush down the front at Reading and the crowd were more dickish than at their own shows - weren't picking people up or letting you move back etc

Me neither at Reading, close to the front in the right section. People were even making space so people could tie their shoelaces.

Yeah Vampire Weekend were one of the best bands there. I'll still take Shikari over Jake Bugg, who was woeful, any day.

They definitely have too many songs to still be playing a 45 minute slot. The slot will get a lot bigger if they don't play for a few years.
