ELO are a band that have passed me by. Other than mr blue sky and the one Paul Weller nicked, I don't know anything.

Anywhere to start?

I only have heard the 2nd one as I had heard Weller nicked it

That's pretty much it, to be honest.

Christ. I'm by no means a big fan, but Telephone Line, Living Thing, Sweet Talking Woman, Don't Bring Me Down, etc. are a, pretty damn solid run.

I wasn't in any way commenting on the quality of the songs, just the reason most punters would be in the field.

I refer you to Fuzzy's comment above. I think a lot of casual punters of my age or younger know Mr Blue Sky far more than anything else. Might be wrong, but put that on over the pa between bands, watch everyone sing unconsciously along under their breath. Stick another one on, it won't happen to anywhere near the same degree. If they played and opened with that song, there'd be half a dozen people left by halfway through the set.

I concur these are probably the best tracks to start with beyond Mr Blue Sky.

Shine a little love is pretty recognisable also as i think it was reworked as a dance tune a couple of years back by some dj.

10538 Overture is the Weller 'changing man' track

I guess they could only play the Pyramid, but not, obviously in the Sunday afternoon slot. I dunno, I'm intrigued as to what slot they could get.

The new Saturday legends' slot that Elvis Costello and Robert Plant have played in the past couple of years. That's what I've been going for.
