mrtourette
It good news i general, but I'd be more interested in how it's broken down by venue size. It seems a bit of a hollow victory if it's lengthy arena tours and endless nights at the O2 that are inflating the figures while small venues still struggle. t8yman
and small venues are closing every week. Was gutted to hear about Leeds Cockpit the other week.
mrtourette
Absolutely. If you look past the money then live music is not in a particularly healthy state. The restaurant on the top floor might be doing well selling £100 steaks, but the foundations are in a bad shape.
Uncle Liam
and small venues are closing every week. Was gutted to hear about Leeds Cockpit the other week. Whilst I was sad to see the Cockpit go, if you look at the shite that was promoted in there it's not hard to see why.

Same with the Charlotte in Leicester too. It ended up being just tribute bands (and bad ones at that) and occasional local band nights at the end with a very rare appearance from something cool. It's no wonder it died...
