Yoghurt on a Stick
It has only just occurred to me that if there is a life after this one, is it also finite. It then got into my mind that maybe you go onto another life, then another etc until you reach the point where you realise that you are God. If that is the case let's circumnavigate it by asking the question - what's the one thing that you would do if you were thrust in to the position of God and had to make a split decision? mrtourette
A split decision on what?
russycarps
God is a concept by which we measure our pain. I reckon.
Guest
Is this the 2,000th thread? is it a sign? I thought we were all god?
Katster
I think it's merely a sign that Yogs overdid things a bit in his 'past' life (ie this summer). Lol.
feral chile
redo evolution so that it was less arbitrary.Or get rid altogether and just have consciousness - you wouldn't need to worry about overcrowding then. Yoghurt on a Stick
I apologise to all. I posted this while under the influence of something. I think what I was trying to get at is if you could only make one decision as God (assuming God exists), what would it be? I think the decision that there should be no God would be an interesting one. Anyway, this is a pile of crap, so feel free to ignore, ridicule etc

5co77ie
last time I realised I was thrust into the position of god I bought a pint, the split decision I guess is - another pint of the same or a pint of something new? Which case I'll probably go for a pint of something new (at least for one pint) I can always go back to the usual if it underwhelms.
Bisque
I stopped believing in god when I realised it was dog spelt backwards.

The first thought turns to something like make World Peace happen, but the only way that works is if you take away from Free Will from people being dicks to each other which on the face of it sounds good? But if you was God, would want to stop free will? I'd guess then, it would be to have regular resets of resources split evenly across everyone. I guess if the decision was to have world harmony, then this would include peace and equality of resources etc. So, I think I'd opt for harmony, although it's such an alien concept it's spooky. windy_miller
If you decided for world peace, then you are admitting that you got something wrong in the first place. This proves that you are not completely infallible and therefore you have just proved that you do not exist.

It then got into my mind that maybe you go onto another life, then another etc Theorizing that one could time travel within his own lifetime, Dr. Yoghurt stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished........ He woke to find himself trapped in the past, facing mirror images that were not his own and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better. His only guide on this journey is hallucinogenics from his own time, who appear in the form of a hologram that only Sam can see and hear. And so Dr. Yoghurt finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong and hoping each time that his next leap............ will be the leap home. My philosophy lecturer used to love me, because I was the only one who would give 'sensible' answers to his questions. Like -'how do we know this table has 4 legs' - others would be absolutely ridiculous and say things like - 'I can feel them with my foot' 'because it's not falling over' or point to them and count them. That is NOT a philosophical answer.Idiots! This proves that you are not completely infallible and therefore you have just proved that you do not exist. Maybe God does exist, but is fallible. Maybe God was working on the world like a hobbyist, then went off to work on another world and got rather engrossed and forgot to finish this world off (which certain schools of thought would argue that he ought). Maybe God just sets up lots of little worlds with differing start off points, just to observe the variances in what happens to those worlds over time. Maybe God is time. There's just far far too many maybe's. Maybe.

He'd have to be an idiot not to. He likes us though, and like any loving parent will give us every second chance to be as good as he knows we can be. IF he existed, that is.
