5co77ie
That bit where he told the story about the war veteran telling him his dad would be proud of him, then straight into vera and bring the boys back home with the footage of war vets returning to their children....there wasnt a dry eye in the house where I was. As for roger, it seems he's working on a new project Mr. Waters will next return to a new album he has been writing, under the working title “Lay Down Jerusalem.” It’s the story, he said, of a boy who has nightmares and asks his grandfather, “Why are they killing the children?” “The grandfather promises that they will find out the answer to that question, and so they go looking,” Mr. Waters said. “And, of course, they don’t find that answer because it’s too difficult.” Mr. Waters, who describes himself as a “radical atheist,” quoted a song: If I had been God I would not have chosen anyoneI would have laid an even hand on all my children, every one I would have been content to forgo Ramadan and LentTime better spent in the company of friendsBreaking bread and mending nets. The project took shape as a radio play. Mr. Waters now hopes to recast it as an album of songs and then an arena show: “Maybe using the new music and some of my old music, and throwing it together to make one last rock show that I might go out with,” he said. “A swan song.” ooo can't wait /me rubs knees
glasto-worker
wow I'm really surprised at that. Can you remember what they were? Presumably one was in france, one spain? I thought one of the crowd looked middle eastern? or maybe istanbul? And I was sure one of the crowds were eastern european. It really did feel like it was more than just 3 locations! they did come up fast but I think one was in Canada { may have been Quebec } - one was in Brazil and the other was somewhere else { may have been somewhere in Latin America but I cant be sure on that one } I was expecting them to show clips from everywhere as I know they had film units at the concerts I was at. from http://www.brain-damage.co.uk/latest/roger-waters-the-wall-new-york-world-premiere-report.html Filmed by as many as ten cameramen, the concert footage was filmed at three concerts across two continents. parts were filmed in 4K we will soon get access to all the credits - Edited September 30, 2015 by glasto-worker

glasto-worker
in a rush so cant check - this appears to be the film we saw last night Roger Waters, co-founder and principal songwriter of Pink Floyd, fuses the epic and the personal in Roger Waters The Wall, a concert film that goes well beyond the stage. Based on the groundbreaking concept album, Roger Waters The Wall could be called a concept film: it’ s a state-of-the-art show that dazzles the senses, combined with an intensely personal road trip that deals with the loss Roger has felt throughout his life due to war. title will be released on November 16 2015 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Roger-Waters-Special-Digipack-Blu-ray/dp/B015Y1BPE4/ref=sr_1_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1443624746&sr=1-2&keywords=Roger+Waters+The+Wall+-+Special+Edition

grumpyhack
This remains my favourite performance of CN. Astonishing line up. Van's voice really lifts it plus members of The Band and great guitar from Snowy White. Edited October 30, 2015 by grumpyhack
glasto-worker
This remains my favourite performance of CN. Astonishing line up. Van's voice really lifts it plus members of The Band and great guitar from Snowy White. I was there - two things stand out{ 1 } they dug up No man's land - cant recall how many mines they found - about eighty { or close } but that made it incredibly dusty - it covered my friends and I in dust.{ 2 } I went ballistic at the concert bar when I found out it was only ' near beer ' - I don't drink much but with the dust I was forced to drink the stuff - they { who ever they are } had imposed a no alcohol restriction and they were not allowing any drink to be brought in as we were searched when we entered.it was a very hot day and really we could have done with a drink.things got better when they let in people who did not have a ticket just as the main concert started because they were allowed to bring in drink.I had two mates with me from Holland who are able to speak German so we were able to buy some drink from the crowd.it was a experience and a half and we ended up at a great party after it in some warehouse in east Berlin.well worth the hassle to get there.
grumpyhack
I'd be very happy to see Floyd back, in whatever variation and even Aussie Floyd or Brit Floyd as they've got such a great body of work.

Although they look pretty similar. Fuck. Imagine seeing Leonard Cohen THERE!!! God, I'd cream myself. He was fucking amazing at Glasto. And even in the sterile O2, but there...jesus. The added bonus being ancient Rome is partly my old field of study and still an obsession.

Yeah we need to make sure we see a gig at a venue like these one day! Hearing pink Floyd songs there would be wondrous. Reminds me of the pink Floyd pompeii album. Well worth checking out if you haven't already! Arena pula:

I'm off to noninate Cohen on the headliners thread and get shot down. 2010 (?) was wonderous. And his stock is still high. That field was in awe.
