So, my first draft schedule for the four nights is subject to tweaking, but atm is:

Thursday

Sugar Free b2b Fonte (Assembly) > Blawan (IICON) > Heidi (Genosys) or Phil Hartnoll/Conradical (Bimble Inn)

Friday

Kelly Lee Owens (Levels) - tho I might see Skindred > HAAi b2b KI/KI (Arcadia) > Amelie Lens (Arcadia) > AZYR (Flying Bus) - just for brief giggles > Origin8 & Prosper b2b Hypershe (Blind Tiger) or Freakenstein (IICON)

Saturday

Orbital (Park) > Unai Trotti (Assembly) > OK Williams (Genosys) > Afrodeutsche (IICON) or Hannah Holland (Genosys) > DJ Stingray 313 (IICON) > Madison Moore (Genosys) > Partok (Genosys) or Deena (IICON)

Sunday

Manni Dee (Temple) > Daria Kolosova (Temple) > KiNK (Temple) - my coach is at 0400h

Frustrations: would really like to see BLUMITSU in Platform 23 (Sunday), and might go there first, but would worry then about a huge Temple queue after the earlier headliner finish on the main stages. We'll see.

Booo, I thought it was a live set. Oh well.

To be more specific, Chroma is an AV DJ set with live elements. Definitely worth seeing it if you like them and you aren’t set to see it anywhere else - I’m gonna catch it at Lost Village, so I’m not bothered.

Coach at 4am???

Yup - it's what I was given and I'm just thankful that the ticket gods have smiled on me again!

If there was something I just couldn't miss, then I'd blag later or book a NE coach back, but I'm not sure there is. I'll be full gas Fri and Sat and then drop the tent Sunday morning, everything into Silver Hayes lock-up, then I can dance until 3am on Monday and wander up to PGA with a smile on my face. It's the same when I go out - I almost never stay until lights up. There's something special about calling it on your own terms.

Anyone have any big clashes?

Main ones I have so far….

Thursday

Job Jobse vs Heidi vs Yung Singh vs Dove

Bicep would be my top choice, but I fear it’ll be too busy

Friday

Bonobo vs LCD

Really undecided on this, might decide on the day

HAAI b2b Ki/Ki vs Bicep

Only one winner here, I’ll be at Arcadia

Other than that I’m relatively clash free

Big clash for me is Jyoty at Temple vs Bicep at IIcon on Friday night.

Seen Bicep before but heard good stuff about the Chroma show and I love IIcon. Had tickets to see Jyoty in 2021 but had to sell the tickets when we found out baby number 2 was on the way. Never been temple and always wanted to go so not sure, will probably decide on the day.

I’d love to catch Nikki Nair as well but his only set I don’t have a clash with is the 5-6am at arrivals, not much on for me on Sunday so might make it if my legs allow 😅

First draft…..

Thursday

Skream and Benga (Lonely Hearts > Joy Orbison (Levels) > Jayda G (Greenpeace) > DJ Boring (Stonebridge) > Bicep (Levels)

Friday

Sofia Kourtesis (WH) > Barry Can’t Swim (Park) > Bonobo (Levels) > Faithless (Glade) > Kelly Lee Owens (Levels) > HAAI b2b Ki/Ki (Arcadia) > Palms Trax (Assembly) > Drum and bass somewhere  in SE Corner

Saturday

Disclosure (Other) > Layla Benitez (Glade) > Eric Prydz (Arcadia) > SE Corner

Sunday

Nia Archives (WH) > Justice (WH) > Roni Size (IICON)

Highlighted the absolute must sees.

Everything else is loose, particularly Thursday which will depend on crowds, I could quite easily see none of the listed acts as we have 2-3 in reserve for each time slot!

Looking for some recommendations. I don’t have a very deep knowledge of dance music and whilst I really enjoy some of the more commercial/well known stuff and stuff that crosses over into indie, I’m typically a bit lost when looking through the late night line ups other than a couple of big names.

I’m also not a massive fan of a lot of the techno that makes up so much of the late night offerings, which means that I end up getting dragged along by friends to some stuff that isn’t my cup of tea.

Anyway that’s a rather long winded way of saying that my lack of knowledge about dance music makes it tough for me to find stuff I might like because I find the differentiation of dance music genres baffling. I enjoy stuff like chemical brothers, Bicep, Disclosure, Flume, Todd Terje, Caribou, Rudimental. Not really sure how to categorise half of those beyond house maybe?

So about the only things I’ve highlighted so far are Bicep, the hot chip dj set (no idea what to expect from this but hot chip are one of favourite bands so have got high hopes) and rudimental dj set. Would be keen to hear any recommendations based on the above.

The Caribou guy also goes by Daphni when DJing, playing a couple of sets I think.

Job Jobse, Confidence Man, Felix Dickinson, Optimo, Midland, Palms Trax, Leon Vynehall, Moxie, Shanti Celeste all worth a listen id say. Have a look for their sets on SoundCloud to get a feel.

I think that's an excellent list of artists to explore, given your post, @Tiesto13.

In addition, I'd recommend again you have a listen to some of Layla Benitez's sets on YT. She plays very feel-good, sort of EDM-lite-techno. It's 'light' compared to the darker, harder side of techno, and I think her Glade set might be perfect for you.

I bloody love Glastonbury so much. Been going since 1992.

I’m absolutely gutted I couldn’t get tickets in either sale.

I haven’t gone it D1$k0rd as it is all too raw and depressing not having a ticket to look forward to it. But since the D-Day has been creeping up I’ve logged back onto here to a snoop.

Last year you lot delivered me to Scalping, Fever Ray (already knew The Knife from way back), Sefef Adasi, DMX Krew, Helena Hauff, Tibasko, Working Mens Club. I even had the pleasure of meeting Ben briefly at psy trance Sunday instead of Elton.

Thanks to you E&D guys this year I have found I like Marie Montexier, Unai Trotti and Layla Benitez.

Is it weird I’ve just gone through the whole of Clashfinder to highlight what I would have gone to??

Thursday

Celebrating Annie: Paper Dragon, Nextmen, King of the Beats, The Orb (all BBC) > Skream & Benga (Lonely Hearts), Daniel Avery  Electroclash (Stonebridge) > Marie Montexier (San Remo) > Dixon (San Remo) > then really tough choices as all three options could be in bold: Plump DJ/Krafty Kuts (Glade Dome’s Annie Nightingale celebration) or Phil Hartnoll and his Son – (like last year had a great time at Bimble Inn) or Dove (AKA Bicep at Levels).

Friday

Zero 7 DJs (Glade) > Moonchild Sanelly (Park) > Barry Can’t Swim (Park)  > Confidence Man (Other)  > Leroy Thornhill (Wishing Well) > PJ Harvey (Pyramid) > Jonathan Pie (Astroblade Theatre) > LCD Soundsystem (Pyramid) > Ross From Friends (San Remo) > I Jordan (Greenpeace) > Carlita (Greenpeace) > Bicep Chroma (IICON) > Camelphat B2B TBA (Nowhere) > Friday  Finale (I would be praying for someone decent at Nowhere)

Saturday

Beatle Dub Club (Bimble Inn) > Cyndi Lauper (Pyramid) or more probably Baskery (Croisant Neuf)  > Last Dinner Party (Other)  > Bloc Party (Other) > The Breeders (Park) > The Streets (Other) > Orbital (Park) > Unai Trotti (Assembly) > Layla Benitez (Glade) > Eric Prydz (Arcadia)

Sunday

Stake Ramp Pro Session (Greenpeace) > Toyah & Robert (Avalon)  > James (Other) > Baxter Dury (Park) > Mount Kimbie (Park) or Lottery Winners (Left Field) > The Farm (Left Field) > Bob Vylan (Left Field) > Justice (West Holts) > Daneil Avery (Glade) > Bit of Campelhpat (Glade) > DJ Tennis B2B Demi Riquismo (Glade Lounge) > if any juice left Felix Dickinson (Genosys) to finish the festival.

I know everything has to move with the times, but personally I feel it is crying shame not to have any Progressive legends (Diwgeed/Warren/Zabiela/Jody Anjundeep etc.) and very little breaks this year.

And seems like Glade’s Psy trance Sunday’s is the first time it is not on either.

IMO there has been on over exposure of techno and D’n’B  at the expense of other genres plenty of which are still massive and have little to no presence at Glastonbury.

Usually mix up bands and DJs more, but this year not many bands taking our fancy at all.

Thursday

Dr Banana > Dixon > Jobse

Friday

Sofia K > Barry can’t swim > ANOTR > Honey Dijon > Bicep > Interplanetary Criminal > Last hour of Midland

Saturday

Streets > Disclosure > maybe levels TBA > Prydz > Partok

Sunday

Justice > Prospa > Kink > Kettema > Felix Dickinson

Hoping Young Marcos second set we can catch, his insta said he was playing twice but only one on the line up so far which clashes with Prydz

Orbital and Phil Hartnoll's DJ set will probably do you some good.

few bits I’m gonna check out there, based on your encyclopaedic knowledge of the niche good stuff!

coach time sucks! fair play to making the best of the last dance though 😳😂

Cheers for the recommendations all, plenty for me to do a bit of homework on!

And I do now realise the slight irony of coming into a dance thread professing ignorance of the genre when my username is tiesto, which was a nickname I picked up based on DJ Tiesto 😄

About a week late getting back to you, but this is exactly the type of stuff I was looking for, probably even more so than Palms Trax who I used as an example. Doesn't seem to be on the full lineup though unfortunately. Any similar recommendations and I'm all ears!

He will be at glasto, I'll let you know if he ends up doing a set. Other names, that are on the lineup - Cormac (Greenpeace), Demi Riquísimo doing 2 sets (Glade Dome & Genosys), one is B2B with DJ Tennis who is a self-confessed italo disco lover

I really do think the Levels set will be 'just' a straight up Bicep DJ set.

Ben

I'm so confused, one hand I thought this new Dove project felt like they might have been perfect for a sunset slot or opening up the stage, similar to where Jobse & Palms Trax were, perfect some really experimental ambiental vibes, but if they are doing 1:30, I really can't see them bringing the pace down to some calm melodic vibes.

Are they going to please the crowd or just do their own thing? 👀 🤔

Just listened to the Sidetracked podcast and Emily mentions Block 9 planning something 'spectacular' this year. Wasn't clear if she was specifically referring to NYC Downlow or Block 9 generally. Exciting though.

Could be the glorious return of the (new) Genosys...?

Thought that this was already public knowledge. Sure Gideon and Moxie confirmed it weeks ago on NTS and then I think it was on the posters and in text about Block 9. Forgive me if I'm wrong.

Realise I may not be on the right thread for this, but in the past I've stumbled across late night DJ's doing House, Disco and 90's/00's anthem type sets, which being a 50 year old ex-raver suited me perfectly.  However, being slightly spangled and more than slightly tired (drunk) I can never recall any names.  Anyone have any suggestions from this year's line up?  Cheers.
