Ended up missing the showdown at the Temple because we wanted to just wander round and talk after LCD, sounds amazing though.

Caught Paranoid London at WOW! on Thursday and they were fantastic. Also caught a bit of someone in LBHQS64 on the same night who was great.

Had such an amazingly electronic based glastonbury I didn't see many bands!

Wednesday night when we eventually got there at 9pm and after a wander round the site was spent in London Underground, no idea who was playing but it was decent house music and a great start to the festival!

Thursday evening & night was spent at the spaceport for back to basics. Ralph Lawson and Laura Jones were ace, was gutted it had to end at 3am! My mates went off to see Bicep at SE corner but soon regretted it after seeing how busy it was and came back!

Friday afternoon was spent at the great Craig Charles funk and soul all dayer, then afterwards went to west holts and caught roisin murphy before underworlds amazing set, left when born slippy came on to try and beat the rush to Arcadia for Carl Cox and then went to catch Dave Seaman at glade main stage, he was great and hardest I've heard him play. After this, my memory is a bit blurry but I think we ended the night with Joy Orbison & Fold.

Saturday early on was spent at the glade seeing Vessels, guy called gerald and the start of carl cox. Was planning to see New order but decided just to spend the whole night in the south east corner instead, started with midland in NYC downlow before heading outside to catch Dungeon Meat at Genosys which I think was my fav set of the weekend, we then caught the end of Mike Pickering and a bit of 808 state before heading back to see Joey Beltram at Genosys but wasn't playing as hard as expected and my mate was getting a be overwhelmed with the crowds building at SE Corner we decided to head back to Glade Lounge to catch Dave Seaman. Was gutted to end the night at 3 again but really couldn't be arsed heading back to SE corner!

Sunday was spent strolling round the site all day catching all sorts of music in random bars and tents, possibly my favourite day but saw the amazing Henry Saiz with live band then wandered round loads of food places before heading up to see Bassment Jaxx and Paul Kalkbrenner at Arcadia then heading to see Troxler & Craig Richards at Genosys. I really wanted to stay round there till the very death of the festival but my mates feet were really hurting by this point so we bought a few cans from the bar and headed back to camp to reflect and what an awesome festival was had!

Such a different festival to last year due to going with a different group and both were great in their own ways! Completely ignored Silver Hayes this time and thus encountered less dickheads. The Glade is definitely my favourite area, excellent music, not too busy, great vibe, toilets nearby, the craft cider bar nearby, and 4 venues to choose from just gutted it shuts at 3am! Genosys & West Holts sound system improvements were great improvements this year. The queues for NYC downlow & LBHQ just completely put me off late on. Kept forgetting about the common area and Floating Points, doh! Oh and Bez's being outdoors has lost its charm, spent all night in there last year! I think Spaceport is nearly as good though!

Hi team

Listen...

...I'm at work (first day back)

...I'm still a bit post-twatted

...I have a cold

...I'm still feckin' knackered

...so in precis:

That was the best dance weekend of my life, by a mile!

I was at:

Bicep - Thursday, Genosys

Ben Coda - Thursday, Glade Lounge

MIDLAND B2B Ben UFO B2B Joy Orbison - Friday, Beat Motel

Paranoid London - Friday, Spaceport (possibly the best DJ set I've ever been to)

Seth Troxler B2B Martinez Brothers - Friday, LBHQ (indescribably brilliant) = All-Nighter #1

Mr G - Saturday, Genosys

Joey Beltram - Saturday, Genosys (was really enjoying it, but bailed just before 3 as my feet were fucking killing me)

Dubfire: Live Hybrid - Sunday, Glade (how good is he?!)

Patrick Topping - Sunday, Spaceport (was so happy in Spaceport that I sacked off Plaid, who were a must-see!)

Richy Ahmed - Sunday, Spaceport

Seth Troxler and Craig Richards - Sunday Genosys

Felix Dickinson - Sunday, Genosys (opening track was really dodgy and I was concerned, then it all got a bit good...!) = All-Nighter #2

I had really wanted to try to get into the Temple, as I still haven't been in there but, tbh, the stuff at Genosys was SO good, that I wasn't fussed. We looked twice, but the Temple queue was HUGE even at 3.30am on Monday, so we just went back to Genosys.

really took to Genosys this year. Could be slightly louder, but the sound is excellent, and the projections onto the 'rooms' in the wall are nicely discombobulating when you're enjoying yourself!

Look, I'd better go, and I haven't had time to catch up with the thread, but I'd be really interested if anyone was where I was and what they thought, especially if they were unimpressed. Nothing in my list above was anything but a lot of fun, much of it simply superb! F*ck knoiws when I'll feel fully recovered, but by jiminy it was worth it.

:)

Glad to see you're alive.  I'm not surprised you're still knackered, the speed you were zipping about!

Thanks, S2H - I did look out for you at dancey stuff (incl. Vessels), but didn't spot you.

Hope your weekend was mega.

I'll try to put together some sort of coherent account in the next few days. I saw 42-43 bands/DJs. I was...err...busy!

I was at Vessels briefly, but the rocky floor and overwhelming bass volume got the better if me, so I left after a few songs. I don't generally get claustrophobic, but for some reason I do in The Glade. I've tried so many bands I like in there (Stanton's, Jon Hopkins). It finally dawned on me that maybe I don't actually like The Glade! :o

It was really really quite fucking good this year, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, especially Joy Orbison & Fold

Do you wear earplugs? I find it too much without but with them in its wonderful stuff :)

Ben

It was nice to meet ya Ben. I'm sure we were in many more places at the same time than just the ones I saw you at.

The one on your list I didn't enjoy was Seth at LBHQ, but that was entirely down to the venue and some of the crowd in there. Just didn't find it that pleasant to be inside. I'm sure the mud didn't help.

Looking forward to hearing more. It was a reaaaaaal good one this year.

Thanks man, thoroughly enjoying it. I've never actually listened to any of the percussions stuff, but now I'm all ears. Was hoping he might end his set with actual Morning Side but this made up for it :)

I did a bit of DJ/dance stuff this year too. On recommendation of one of the guys on here, I spent all of Friday early afternoon at the Bicep & Friends outdoor party on the Wow stage, occasionally ducking into the covered stages during the rainfall.

Then caught a coupe of acts on the Pyramid, before heading to see Heidi & Daniel Avery at Arcadia, which was brilliant and not too packed.

Saturday night, we saw Andy C at Arcadia which I have to say was bloody amazing, BUT the crowd was so intense and the mud made things very difficult indeed. But was really surprised at what a great set it was, he's still at it!

ayyyy beat hotel is the place good on ya guys. waiting patiently for OBface and Ben now!

See I've sort of avoided this thread for embarrassment of just how much I missed out on... I was with a largish group of nyc downlow stalwarts so we ended up spending a lot of time there (no bad thing in my book).

Thursday was Beat Hotel for Seth b2b Tiga - memory is very hazy of what happened after but was fun I'm sure :)

No headliner Friday so Beat Hotel for Midland b2b Ben ufo b2b joy Orbison then hot chip remembers prince then Downlow for roger Sanchez and honey dijon til close.

Saturday was a friends 30th and as we were in such a big group Genosys was the only real option to avoid queuing. Didn't really get into Joey Beltram to be honest. If you saw any unicorns around block 9 that night it was us. Managed to sneak into Downlow for last bit of the Black Madonna and Tama Sumo.

After LCD on Sunday (no words) we hung around the cabaret field to recover then to Downlow again. Really good night but the bar seemed to close early and they ran out of water in the vat type thing keep on the bar and refused to fill it up. It was dangerously hot so we ended up having to take bottles of tonic water from the fridge and share it out ourselves.

Not the best run down but in my defence I am still struggling! Hoping to achieve more breadth of experience at Farr in a couple of weeks.

To be fair though, I probably wouldn't change a thing :)

NYC Downlow is amazing, I'd be stoked if my whole group wanted to live in there. Sounds like a good weekend to me! I've heard amazing things about the nightlife this year from so many people. Love the attention they're putting into it.

Also everyone: what were the issues with the SE corner tho? Got the implication (can't remember where from) that security were heavy handed and it was basically impossible to get in.

Loads of space once inside the tent, that seems to be the case in most crowds/tents in glasto though, everyone crammed at the back with space to dance at the front.

Also saw Seth in LBHQ on Friday from start to finish, was mad when it started pissing down.

Straight after the headliners the put up signs on the big informations boards on the way to SE Corner, saying it was full and to try other venues, this obviously wasn't the case, so people started queueing and pushing and security weren't budging, Sunday night especially it became particularly dangerous until security were pretty much over powered and everyone got in

Just another case if you've absolutely no reason to be there between 12-3 then seriously avoid it until then

Pleased everyone had a great time! So gutted I missed out!

On the plus side, this time last year I was in such a fragile state that Bens first post-Glastonbury post made me cry at my desk at work, no such issues this year! I'm off to Blissfields this afternoon so will get my dancing done this weekend!

Managed to get to a lot of stuff I wanted to see but missed a good bit thanks to queues and distractions...

Maceo plex on Friday in the blues was probably my favourite set although the temple on Sunday could have been had I managed to get in earlier than 4:10.
Daniel Avery was fantastic, would have been brilliant later or a longer set(although this allowed me to catch NZCA lines in the crows nest)
Wasn't really a fan of A Guy Called Geralds set but the glade was a fantastic venue, intended to see more there.
Prosumer and honey soundsystem were great at genosys, wanted to catch them again but didn't make it into NYC downlow at all this year with the crowds.

Personally I thought most stages had sorted sound issues out this year

I certainly don't think I had any complaints about anything, plenty of praise for Genosys and The Temple, both incredible sounds this year
