Seen the Bluedot lineup Benny?  Orbital + Rival Consoles - seems up your street to put it mildly.

Yeah, it always seems to be a very good line-up for me, S2H.

Trouble is that I am, as you probably know, pretty much strictly a one-festival-a-year man, as my guilt chip kicks in and 3x teenager duties take over. Add that to the fact that I am breaking that model this year (taking Child 3 to Latitude for his first festival!!!) and it would rule out any other possibilities.

Shame, though. I have to say that love them as I do and important as they have been to me, I am less bothered about Orbital as there is that element of a rehash-for-cash. Interesting that their interpersonal animosity is likened to that of the Messrs Gallagher on the Bluedot website. That also bothers me. What are we saying? That they fell out so badly there was previously no prospect of a professional reconciliation...and now there is such a burning creative desire and passion rekindled between them that all is forgiven? If they played, I'd be stoked. If not, I could bear it.

I'm afraid that I am SO ridiculously obsessed with new stuff coming out that I have a very low interest level/tolerance of reformations and reunions, unless I get an unequivocal sense of the integrity of the venture...and I can't really remember the last example to convince me of that.

Rival Consoles, however...now you're talking. I would be SOOOO excited if he played, but would want it to be in a proper dancey venue, frequented by the electronica cognoscenti! Just sticking him on the Park at sunset would be great, but it'd be better to have him in the SEC somewhere...or on the Spider :o

Eh? Platt Fields is in one of the roughest areas going. Fallowfield, rusholme and moss side. Heaton Park isnt that bad to be honest.

but it was literally ALL students. this one has proper full on scrotes including those that bring weapons....

its prob just that its a really big well known event now, and it wasn't as much before

Whichever way you look at it, its shite now - and it didn't used to be - and that is tied to the change of venue.

Just seen !!! (Chk chk chk) are playing Standon Calling again this year. Would love to see them down the farm. Glade stage would be nice. Have they ever played Glastonbury?

I believe they have been on the Glade Stage before, perhaps in 2007 if memory serves?

Off to London this weekend. And wanna go somewhere tomorrow night. Managed to find some tickets for Printworks opening but they're £45 !

Looking at the Tripadviser reviews for MOS and they looks suspiciously fake. Almost all of them say about booking VIP. And say it's the best club  in London. Anyone here been recently? Is it worth going?

It's a Defected In The House event.

i've been to MOS recently, the sound system in the main room is fantastic and has to be seen (heard) to be believed!

so do the drinks prices......

overall i haven't a bad word to say about it really, its quite touristy as you'd expect but equally I wasn't really annoyed with the crowd or anything. It was for a todd terje / greg wilson night. their lineups are usually pretty shoddy though to be fair. which is a shame as its a decent club all in all. I'd have a go if you like the lineup.

corsica is a lot better obviously but its barely comparable due to size and what they have on.

They played in West Dance in 2007 too - popped my head in and danced for an hour, and got tickets for their tour as soon as I was home. That was when there was a stage (I think called the G Stage) was nearby, and seemed to play happy hardcore from 11am till 4am... and the same 12 lads seemed to be dancing there all weekend.
