If temple turns out to be denis sulta I think i'l hang my head in shame

they can do better than that, probably the shittest dj around in my opinion

Jackmaster b2b Joy O, Ben UFO b2b Job Jobse ... non comparable to sulta  - they can do better than that

Craig Richards b2b Ben UFO, Ben UFO b2b Joy Orbison, Pangaea b2b Pearson Sound, much better choices than sulta

I didn't mean for the Temple I just meant in general. You're entitled to your opinion though :)

I suspect reasonably big things from the temple this year what with them making it bigger and all that

No Arcadia?! What a shame :( I hope they've got something similar to replace it. I didn't go there too often but its a great stage that offers a variety of dance music.

Also great news about the Temple increasing in size, hopefully it'll still keep its magic and decent sound (for Glastonbury).

In terms of night-time population control, I'm sure there'll be something to replace it. To be honest, as a spectacle it's probably wearing a little thin for those that have been a couple times. Like mixing up the Shangri La themes etc. Interesting if true though.

My thoughts are that's the field where the near cinema/old car set up is

Arcadia would be a big loss to the festival I think

seems the most likely scenario doesn't it. I was wondering where they were thinking of shoe-horning the cinema installation into....

We'll see though! It would be a big loss if not only because its the main attraction for late night loud music outside of the SE corner, which would make the corner even worse most likely. Since we all know the cinema wont attract the late night ravers

It turns out, there isn't going to be an Arcadia at Glastonbury this yesr

(if this is corrrect)

Wasn't expecting that! Although I don't spend a great deal of time there and the sound has always been a little pish, seeing and hearing that big spider over the horizon has always been a big part of Glastonbury for me.

And like has been said above, with it gone the SE corner will be a deathtrap unless they plan on having another big late night electronic music area elsewhere on site.

Bear in mind that Arcadia also takes people away from [the already overcrowded] Silver Hayes. The Beat Hotel and Stonebridge are currently okay in terms of capacity, but it's not just only the SE corner that would suffer. There'd certainly be something planned.

I am here.

I have been reading.

I can't link to tweets on work PC.

Are we sure?

I'll be fucking livid, if we are.

The sound is not poor. You have to be inside the legs. Friday night in 2015 was probably the best outdoor rave sound I've ever heard - I was right under the belly for 2.5 hours.

Someone clever do some clever internetty thing and find out about this.

Fuck it, I'll tweet Arcadia.

I'm not having this...

The new area won't attract the late night ravers but might divert some of the 'just going to have a look as it's the done thing' crowd. Here's hoping anyway.

Yeah my first thought was SE corner, Arcadia does a good job at keeping a fair amount of people away from SE corner, until 2am when it finishes up.

It finishes at 3am and so is perfect for ravers like us then to hit Genosys/Temple/NYCD etc. when all the SEC rotating sheep are heading for the Railway Line and beddybyes.

Maybe the new Cloud9 area that was announced a while ago is the replacement of Arcadia?

Isn't that up between Other and Pyramid?

Can't see that being a 'satisfactory' replacement for Arcadia ravers. My take on it was a series of smallish new, night-time venues, maybe for the non-technoheads (apparently, and luckily, there are some...)

Arcadia holds quite a big crowd, as tuna says, it's going to make everything a lot busier

This is pish, and Il be sticking with the opinion of this is pish until I have reason to believe otherwise

Whilst I am the eternal optimist and minded to agree with you, Mez, that linked article from Tuna is pretty unequivocal in its message. Just a case of whether or not the message is bollocks.

But what is it with this ever expanding festival exclusive w*nk?

Bands...hmmm...OK, yeah, commercial strategies blah blah blah. DJs? File under same.

But stages? Whole bloody installations? Sorry, but that's total anathema to me in terms of the spirit of festivals, and Glastonbury in particular. I'm genuinely cross about this. Not just my own selfish disappointment, but the whole tone of the thing. My festival time is not based on who can bid best for my patronage. It's about me having the nearest damn thing that I can to a spiritual experience, just for a few days in an otherwise stressful, challenging year.

Bollocks.
