Surely Alt-J are a shoe-in to headline the Other (not above Bjork, you understand...another night)? They'll almost certainly headline the main stage at Latitude...

Would be very happy if your Weezer, Prodigy and Frank Turner predictions came true, though Frank Turner had posted on his forum before that certain Glastonbury bookers don't like him so can't see that one happening

You're probably right, but just thought if Pixies and Paolo Nutini were subbing Other stage last year then surely Alt-J couldnt demand to be headlining it.

I do like them but think they would be very underwhelming other stage headliners, they were so dull in 2013!

Paolo is one situation - very popular, star still just about ascending. Pixies are 'legends' (tho never been a huge fan, personally), but their fanbase, loyal though it is, will never grow now. Alt-J have managed to produce a decent follow-up to an incredibly popular and successful debut, and still have a growing, quite yoof, fanbase. Ergo, I think they represent an archetypal newish band Other stage headliner. the kids were at Skrillex. The kids will be at Alt-J.

In terms of live, I've only seen them on small stages - Green Man tent and Birmingham Academy 2! they manage that comfortably. Whether they're mellow arty indie-pop can hold a big crowd remains to be seen. They're headlining Longitiude - capacity 10,000/day, and I'm pretty sure that they'll headline it's big sister. they coud sub that, given that they recently headlined the 2nd stage, but I reckon they'll get the big slot.

I'd be happy with them on the Other, then making my way to the SE Corner to crank it up a bit...

have a look through it and let me know if you think any of it wouldn't happen!
I didn't include much for the park because the lower acts for that stage will probably end up being plenty of randoms that nobody would be able to predict

yeah I think i've actually been a bit hopeful with this lineup. I'm sure half the bands that clash on this lineup probably won't be there this year anyway.

Bear in mind I've not really included most of the BBC brady bunch that will surface about the time of BBC radio 1's big weekend, and consequently fill up the spare places in the lineup that could be filled by many of the bands I've put down.

Ah well

can't see Lana Del Rey, Chvrches, Paolo Nutini, Warpaint, London Grammar and Portishead all coming back from recent years. Can't really see Pet Shop Boys turning up this year either.

Can see Royal Blood, Public Service Broadcasting and Hozier all coming back though because they seem to be gaining more popularity this year and have potential for playing on bigger stages.

St. Vincent I think is busy on the weekend of glastonbury this year though

Here's a rough guess. Some more in hope than expectation, as at the moment it's looking like I'll be spending a lot of time in the comedy tent... Wildly inaccurate but who cares!

Friday

Pyramid - Foo Fighters, Damon Albarn, Strokes, Paul Weller

Julian wouldn't allow it

Other - Chemical Brothers, London Grammar, Hozier, Vaccines

How big do you think The Vaccines are?

Park - Hot Chip, My Morning Jacket, Gruff Rhys, Phil Selway

Yes to the Gruff!

JPT - SBTRKT, Tame Impala, Future Islands, Public Service Broadcasting

Saturday

Pyramid - Coldplay, Lana Del Ray, Pet Shop Boys, Beck

Beck would sub

Other - Alt J, Royal Blood, Chromeo, Maximo Park

Park - Caribou, Chvrches, Cold War Kids, Alvvays

Chvrches would easily headline the park

JPT - Ride, St Vincent, Alabama Shakes, James Bay

Sunday

Pyramid - Madonna, Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Lionel Ritchie

Other - Paulo Nutini, Portishead, Damien Rice, Public Enemy

Portishead and Public Enemy would play higher

Park - Bell & Sebastian, Patti Smith, Plaid, Warpaint

Warpaint would play higher

JPT - Charlatans, Placebo, First Aid Kit, Wombats

At least you made the effort. Some good shouts there, but a lot of misplaced acts

The Vaccines playing 3rd/4th down the Other Stage after playing 3rd on the Pyramid?

jennifer-lawrence-10.gif

This is the sort of thing that happens all the time at Glastonbury with short-lived over-hyped indie bands.

Take the Kaiser Chiefs

2007: subheadlined pyramid stage

2011: subheadlined other stage

2014: headlined john peel stage

and White Lies

2011: subheadlined other stage

2014: played about 5th down on other stage

and Editors

2008: 3rd down on pyramid stage

2010: subheadlined other stage

2013: 3rd down on other stage

the Vaccines won't be as popular this year as they were in 2013, I know it.

I'm predicting they'll be 2nd/3rd down on the other stage. Maybe not so far as 4th down though
