"I'm not allowed to talk about him" is the closest we're going to get to a solid rumour, isn't it? After last year's chaos, I'll bet there's a very small inner circle who actually know who's booked, even smaller if it's him. I still don't want to believe just yet, but that is a very positive sign (in a world without signs).

I also think FM won't be playing. Eavis comes out with some shit sometimes, but I can't remember him ever flatly denying anyone will be there in such stark terms. There's time for plans to change of course, but that sounds definite to me.

when I asked him about Prince he said he wasnt allowed to talk about him

That's Michael's 'stock' answer to questions he doesn't want to answer - often followed by 'because Emily will get very cross' and a laugh.

I've known him give that answer when asked about bands who have subsequently played the festival and those that haven't.

Nah. I'd say it's Emily told him to shut his gob on that one, as not talking about Prince looks like the only way they'll ever be likely to get him.

So he's not talking about him, which means... they're more likely to get him?

Wasn't it social media Prince spat his dummy over this year, rather than anything the festival said? They can't control who says what so there's always that risk again. It must be very frustrating to see a booking you want being so media un-savvy,

FM definitely not happening then. Time to accept that.

Prince...my guess is he said that just as a bit of a joke about not wanting prince to throw a tantrum about the festival using his name to sell tickets again (despite it being sold out already...), rather than a clue that he might be playing.

In conclusion, we know nothing for certain.

The only 'real' thing he said was that following on from Metallica's success, there's another heavy band booked.

He also said that the Block 9 gang had been to visit yesterday to start planning.

That was pretty much it, but I'd not thought it was likely he'd leak anything at all.

DACKA!

DACKA!

Yay!

Hmmmm .... so that sounds like they don't have both of Foos and AC/DC, but just one of them.

I've had good sourced info that puts Foos solidly in the frame. If Glasto has just one of them, I'm pretty sure it'll be Foos.

Boo!

You could back and forth all day on how heavy each of them are - and I'd argue neither of them, really - but if only one of them is to be described as 'heavy' then it's got to be the ones from the southern hemisphere.

In short, I'm still optimistic, but that's based on nothing other than hope, really.

Recent announcement of AC/DC tour dates makes it look like they've chosen their own shows.

So yeah they probably mean the Foos, and as festivals have moved their dates for the foos they are clearly one of the biggest acts touring this coming summer.

What I did notice though was when we sat with him he was genuinely interested in our views and thanked us and everyone he spoke to that had attended , that is why Glastonbury is so superb it evolves and it seems they listen . What a privelige to get to spend an evening sat at the same table as this man who has given me and lots of friends over 50 days of superb entertainment over the years . Thank you Michael :)
