leeawill17
What's your opinion on the decision?
Chavmeisterdeluxe
I'm fine with it. A band I could watch and enjoy or happily miss if there's someone better on or just fancy a night back at camp.
leeawill17
I'm not so sure but ye I agree wouldn't be disappointed if I missed them
Tobieski
Not a fan, but a decent booking for the festival I guess?
tyranicide
Haven't seen them yet and they're a band I can cross of my "to see" list, I hope they don't clash with refused.
JonSnuh
Enjoyed watching their glasto set on TV and wanted them at reading for this year so definitely pleased
Matt42
Settled in, now the WOAH IT'S NOT BLAH BLAH BLAH has gone. This is a band which has headlined a UK festival pretty much every year since 2007, I honestly can't get excited for it. Yeah them being back at reading is cool, but it's just like that pizza analogy dental explained. You've had it before no matter how much it's been polished to look exclusive. lightning1000
Exclusive pizza? I think you've gotten yourself all confused again.... Anyway, regarding metallica, most overbooked headliner out there, a big bucket of meh. They really need to fuck off for a while from the UK fests. justanothername
I know it is not an inspired booking, but it is better than most of the other predictions but I was impressed and I'm not even a big Metallica fan. I've never seen Metallica but after the good things said about their headline set at Glasto I'm probably going to go (unless they're opposite Refused, which I doubt they'll be)
Andre91
The best possible announcement for me. One of my favourite bands of all time and the only band that I have left on my 'must see' list. I was in my car and when Enter Sandman started playing I shouted "OH MY GOD" and couldn't get the smile off my face. Absolutely can't wait. lightning1000
I find it incredible that people that haven't seen metallica live still exist.
dentalplan
Yeah them being back at reading is cool, but it's just like that pizza analogy dental explained. You've had it before no matter how much it's been polished to look exclusive. It was a reference to this. Though I do find it a boring booking and I don't like them on top of that, and was surprised that so many people were happy at their announcement. However if it brings back a more alternative festival then that's good and also if they aren't using this as an excuse to delay the album (they definitely will) then they should have a new album out and it'd have an edge over the past five chances people have had to see them. the wonderwhy
I don't think you can reaaaaaally count Glasto as a 'chance' to see them. Doesn't matter though as four is plenty I've never seen them, really want to, and LOVED their Glasto set on TV so I'm stoked. I'd rather go see them at Rock en Seine though. The Placid Casual
I enjoyed them more than any other act at Glastonbury, so I should be seeing them again I'll be round Melv's house if they clash with Refused

I had the chance to see them as I bought a ticket to the biggest UK festival. I didn't take that chance because their music is not good. Also I can't believe you like Metallica after trashing the likes of AC/DC and the Stones for being old megastars. I enjoyed them more than any other act at Glastonbury, so I should be seeing them again I'll be round Melv's house if they clash with Refused Probably will. As a punk band, it's likely they'll have the least crossover with Metallica of the Rock Stage headliners.

Well then I'll pay Melv a visit in the next few months, and I won't be round there for tea
The Placid Casual
I'm not even that much of a fan, but they were just so enjoyable. That film they showed at the start of their set was awesome

Yeah you did, but I can't imagine many Metallica fans, or people who would be interested in seeing Metallica, booked Glastonbury tickets And to be fair, they're 20 years younger than the Stones and Angus Young is definitely lying when he says he's
kaosmark2
They're entertaining live, a big name that hasn't played the festival that recently. But yeah, if you go to a variety of festivals, they're piss easy to see. Doesn't stop it being a good booking though.
dentalplan
I think it's a good booking if they have a new album. That could go either way.
mrtourette
Boring, but unquestionably a grade A headliner so should prevent that retarded argument rearing it's ugly head. An infinitely better booking that Linkin Park would've been.

devilman
Anyway, regarding metallica, most overbooked headliner out there, a big bucket of meh. They really need to fuck off for a while from the UK fests. I thought this until I bimbled along at Sonisphere as there was nothing else on. Fuck me they were awesome. Much better than the few times I'd seen them before. I'll be there on the off chance that it's half as good again.
PDAD
Still not seen them yet. I can take or leave their music but I'm pretty excited to see if they live up to their reputation as a great live act.
