Kurt Vile has a new album out in the coming weeks as well. That boy sure can play.

The Georgia album is pretty good, and definitely falls into that category.

 

Also not new at all, but I've just discovered the Vessles album, Dilate.

 

I'm desperately hoping that Burial is waiting for the nights to draw in before he drops something new, but that might just be me being optimistic!

Gave the Georgia tunes ago, Not really my thing to me honest. Seemed to not go anywhere really and was a lot of making sounds just for the point of it.

 

Will give Vessels a go today.

Half way through the (v. long) new Miley Cyrus album and it's mostly really good so far. Credit for that goes largely to The Flaming Lips who co-wrote and produced most of it but yeah, check it out.

Come on peeps, has anyone got any recommendations for new electro pop/electronic type stuff? Have not had time to keep up with this thread unfortunately, but would appreciate if some of you more knowledgeable peeps could steer me in the right direction.

 

This site introduced me to some good stuff last year and it was nice to hear something fresh and move away from the groundhog day of Madchester which all my friends have great difficulty in moving away from.

I'm totally boned up for the new Deerhunter album.  This new single is the clearest they've ever sounded, which is kinda strange territory for them, but also very exciting.

I've got my eye on that, though I wasn't too enamored with the last one though. Hopefully a decent sized tour as well.

 

Since G, my ears have involuntarily shut down to anything I'm not familiar with, I need to pull my fingers out my lugs and have a change. There's nowt other than the new Dre and Libertines that has tickled my fancy.

Deerhunter's new album is bloody fantastic. liking it a lot more than Monomania on first few listens (which i never really got to grips with)

Have the new Lana arriving tomorrow so will give that a whirl. Enjoyed Deerhunter's on first listen. Need to give Youth Lagoon's and Beirut's a listen too... seen a bit of criticism about the latter though

haven't heard the new one myself yet! must get round to it. reviews of the new album are positive without being overly so - general consensus seems to be that it isn't as good as the first

 

they're far too big for the Park now - third or even second on Other for them i think

North Circular in particular really carries the spirit of Weak Become Heroes by The Streets, love it!

 

Their first album, Real Life, comes out in October.

I keep meaning to listen to Deerhunter, everybody who likes good bands seems well into them. Mind you, this was the thought process that lead me to listen to The National and Interpol, found them both acceptable but dull.
