Has anybody listened to Nervous by Siskiyou? It was released right at the beginning of the year, but it's really wonderful, I'm surprised at the lack of attention it's getting.

This came out a month ago and I don't think anyone has mentioned it but the new album from The World Is A Beautiful Place & I'm No Longer Afraid To Die is fantastic.

It's not out until next year but this new Savages tune has me salivating for their new album...

The new stuff they played at Latitude this year was excellent! At the end of their set my mate turned to me and said "Wow, when did they get so good?" (Tickets booked for their tour next Feb and fingers crossed for a Glastonbury slot)

John Peel headliners? They feel like a band that would be much better in an enclosed stage, where were they on at Latitude?

Not headliners on there yet. They played very high up the JP bill in 2013 but there was something weird about the undercard that year. :lol: Would say mid-low Other, high JP or high Park.

 

Beach Slang's very good record 'The Things We Do To Find People Who Feel Like Us' came out today (stream here) for anyone into Titus Andronicus and other bands that do a punk take on heartland rock. Less than a third of the length of +@'s latest longplayer, mind.

New album by the stupidly named 'Car Seat Headrest' is really good, even if the unecessarily lo fi production is a bit annoying at times.

This is really good album. It’s re-recordings of old songs (from a huge bandcamp back catalogue that I fully intend to delve into), so I’d imagine it’s quite polished in comparison to the previous production? Love the “Michael Stipe” bit in ‘Strangers’.

Teens of Denial is out next year, which is all new originals.

Man, that new Dylan box set is something else. Nobody, fucking nobody has had a creative burst like that in 65-66. It's just astonishing. And fascinating to listen to this stuff. How he chose the definitive version, the way he built the songs, adapted, fucked around with them, how they evolved. It's a fucking life's work to try and understand this. I could lose myself for days in this parallel universe without coming up for air.

Are you talking the full 18CD edition or the wimpy mere 6CD set?

I've ordered the 3 LP set for when I get back to England, but I've 'borrowed' the full 18CD set of the Internet and been shuffling my way through it on a random basis. There's also a 15 track sampler on Spotify (Dunno why I'm telling you that, you're undoubtedly the King of Spotify)

Had it on repeat and really enjoying it.

 

Edit - Took me 4 attempts to get that bugger to embed. Can't seem to find the equivelent of the old 'preview' function so that you can view your post before posting it. Does this function no longer exist ?

the preview has gone. You get a live preview now, where the embedded vid will show before you submit the post.

Make a carriage return after pasting the link to the youtube page, and wait about 1 second - and the vid should be embedded.
