Increased Capacity

So....

According to Virtual Festivals next years capacity is to be increased by 5000 with and an increase to 35000 over the next 3 years!

Anyone else thing that this would be too big?

They ain't got the licence for it yet !

They have applied but there is an objection from with in the council .......... The environment dept!

So who knows ?

The site can take it no problem , car park isn't even half used you may have a longer walk from a campsite or you may not have the luxury of your own entrance if in luxury or emperor but the site is big enough !

It's outside the site where the problems are traffic poor road signs and a lathergic couldn't give a toss management company ! Good talkers but never deliver!

TBH it wants maxing sooner rather than later so we as locals with businesses and homes to look after know what WE are dealing with, the softly softly smoke screens and mirrors is getting pretty played out now !

If your bothered about the atmosphere well don't worry on that it will be cracking festival with a stronger line up . I've heard a couple of rumours on headliners and its strong 1 ! The fans will wet their pants .

I've known about the capacity increase since september!

And I heard the strong rumour on a headliner in November, which was confirmed that they are trying hard to secure ! It's true and you can only admire their ambition.......... But it's not my place to say ! Maybe buddy Efest might know !

I just hope that some of that vast turnover reported in The news and star For the good of cumbria gets pushed in the direction of our very own unicorn and mermaid sanctuary!

I can stand an increase in capacity, not sure about 35,000 though. But what about the proposed extra full day on the Thursday? Not a good idea, I'd rather they put the money from the extra ticket sales into the current three days.

Yeah if Thursday is a full day of music would that mean people arriving Wednesday? I think a decent sized act for the Thursday night would be good but not a full day, like you say use the money and make the 3 days a stronger line up. If it goes to 35000, I'm guessing more stages? Would they have to move the main stage?

Think my head is gonna pop with all the excitement, lovely real ale till 5 am, that's gonna be a test, so what bands can we expect with regard to the larger attendance?

not sure how I feel about this... does this mean they'll have to think about where the main stage lives? even if only 1/3 of the additional numbers where to want to see the headlines that's an extra 4,500 odd (allowing for extra staff etc).

I also really like the chilled thursday feel, we land, pitch, mooch and eat all accompanied by a drink or two. I'll be absolutely knackered by the Sunday if there is a full thursday line up...and skint!

Is the Thursday still limited tickets? or is it open to everyone now then?

I don't know how limited the Thursday tickets actually are. You can usually still buy em a week before the festival and the place was rammed on Thursday last year.
