I was miffed LCD weren't on last, but I enjoyed Hot Chip, possibly just the upbeat attitude of being 18 at the time though,

I think the engineering might have been fucked up that night, the sound for HC was appalling, far worse than LCD, and also worse than Hot Chip on Other in 2010 or when they played Gorilla in Manchester this year.

Having said that, Alexis's tuning was pretty bad too.

LCD were hard to beat that night, I grant you, but Hot Chip still fell short of any other live experience I've had of them, either in the flesh or in YouTube.  Maybe it was just an off night?

They weren't as good playing before LCD at Ally Pally on that same tour either.

Hot Chip just announced as headliners of Love Saves the Day in Bristol. Never been before but bought an early bird as it's the day after my 40th it  so I'm going back home to Bristol for it and they've got Arcadia then this lands. What a result!

More than likely i'll attend this time round in that case.

I have and it was nothing special -  but it was years ago.

 

All I can remember is an instrumental version of Don't You Want Me Baby.Felt a bit pretentious.

Hot Chip DJ sets are not worth spending money on. Have been to 3, none particularly good

That's the only DJ set of theirs that I've been to. I thought it was an excellent night. They all seemed to be having the time of their lives.

Do you think this will be a full length set at Loves Saves The Day? Sounds like a decent shout, but hoping for Hot Chip at Festival No 6. Not been there before but not got Glastonbury tickets this year so fooling of alternatives and not sure about Bristol in May.

I don't know that a reformed White Stripes would be superior to Jack White solo (not his Glastonbury set though, that was rubbs). I never saw REM, so there. Reformed REM, playing mainly IRS era stuff and no songs released after Imitation Of Life, that would be good.
