Pete Doherty is a bit of a Billie Joe Armstrong in that I find the pair very youthful and almost unageing.

Billie Joe because pop-punk singers are usually young boys. Seems very 'childish' on stage

Pete Doherty because he seems a bit of a university drug addict student. (Although he's gone through rehab)

And for that reason The Libertines cannot be named as a novelty act yet at all.

This is from my perspective which can alter massively to others.

What does this mean?

I think they are a big shout for Glastonbury now.

The way Pete is now (especially the way he is in the interview talking about the Amy Winehouse song) tells me that they aren't looking to smash and grab and there is a potential for longevity if he can keep strong.

I think a Glastonbury appearance would be great for his confidence and as you have said, Carl has a stong affinety for the festival. I'd love them to play.

Are you not a Happy Mondays fan?

I've got some news for you...

Pulp? (Though a co headliner and subing at other festivals, well not in the North :P).

You might well do, but you know it to be true their massively more popular than that.

Yes I am :-)

according to the Libertines forums, no. They're meant to be playing;

A Perfect Day/Alpha Romeo City Sound in Milan

T in the Park

Ibiza Rocks

Low Festival in Benidorm

Leeds on the Friday

Rock en Seine on the Saturday

Reading on the Sunday

Libertines just announced a show, 4th july at Assago Summer Arena in Milan. I'm assuming this is true then.

Is the list fully right? I don't want it to be right.

I don't either but it seems quite likely (R&L and T were the UK ones I'd thought they end up doing) and the person who originally posted it was in the know about their shows last year. Time will tell but I won't be surprised if this list is correct. Hopefully there'll be a few small warm up shows like there were in 2010 and 2014.

It seems like it's right, but it might not be the complete list of festival appearances as the poster just added Best Kept Secret in Holland to the list.

Interesting. Thanks.

"We really like Glastonbury, but I don't think we're going to do it". Unless that's a lie I think that's a definite answer!
