Favourite Songs or Videos

I'm sure there's already a topic for this, but I couldn't find it. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone would like to share their favourite songs or videos, particularly if they've influenced you in some way. Or simply made you happy after a crap day.

Anyway, my all time favourite:

Feral

Loved your first two for different reasons but remarkably they both hit "sweet spots" with me

Also loved your "debate with Neil" on the page 3 topic. Neil would never admit it but you ripped him to shreds.

so I take your hold your head up & raise you

One of the songs from an album I've recently fallen in love with yet again - Alan Hull's 'Pipedream'.

(forget the Lindisfarne bit on the video - this isn't them, it's Alan Hull).

I hadn't heard that before - it's beautiful.

the whole album is. It's very worth checking out.

It's from 1973, and the production is superb, too. :)

I don't often agree with you, Neil. But (treasure this moment) you are right about Pipedream.

I believe I have it on vinyl still somewhere. Some tracks stand the test of time better than others, but the one you have picked is still fantastic.

And since we have moved on to love songs here's mine, with the bonus of an introduction by whispering Bob:)

Clannad. I loved the Michael Praed version of Robin, but wasn't so keen when Jason Connery took over - blond, slim, and seemed too young.

You might have noticed a slight resemblance to David Cassidy in those last 2 videos - pure coincidence, I assure you.

:D

you don't happen to have one of his others, do you? I had Pipedream and other (I forget what) on a tape years ago, and I'd like to hear that again too.

Fun topic!

Here's mine:

(Well 3 really...)

First is Seeed - Beautiful. This song reminds me of my best mate who's currently living in Germany. He first got me into Seeed years ago and this song is probably my favourite Seeed tune.

Second is something a bit different. More German stuff (blame the above-mentioned buddy) this is some bouncy punky stuff. To be honest this really represents my youth; I'd have loved Beatsteaks when I was 12 just as much as I love 'em now!

Last is probably my main musical taste kinda thing these days. A bit more psychy/rocky/stonery than I'd have dug as a kid. More than making up for it now mind. Chose this because the video frankly kicks ASS :D

Monster Magnet - The Duke

So there we go, a little trip through me (and some stonking tunes to boot) :)

(Damn it, it only displays previews of 2 of the 3 videos. Still, all the links are there and I assure you the songs are great!)
