Lineup 2016

The deluxe edition of the album wouldn't have nowt to do with their touring schedule; it was just promo for the film. They did say the new album would be out early 2017 so it's unlikely they'll be anywhere next summer. Even if it did seem likely they would tour next summer then I wouldn't believe someone who pops up with vague clues trying to get people to guess at their info - nobody that does that is the real deal.

Yup, otherwise you could go round the houses and end up in China right? :P

So what is he actually saying? arcade fire are headlining? Surely with them just releasing a deluxe album or whatever it was they are pretty much off the cards? Unless the album is coming out late next year, which may make reading a bit more likely as its one of the last festivals of the summer

TBF, Win doesn't make Feb 2017 sound anything more than an educated guess. I'm not saying it is them but they could feasibly play a festival show end of August, the chances are they will release something that a major amount of people will like as a single or two. Coldplay October 11 album, Glasto 11 gig afterall.

Arcade Fire would of course be brilliant but yeah, there's no news on them doing anything next year.

Maybe 2017. Arcade Fire, Biffy Clyro and N.W.A.

Given Blink were back after 4 years it's easy to see that Biffy could be as well.  will probably go for them again in 17 as well, be no problem in them playing again 3 years later.

But for next year, a guess atm is Muse, FF (I'm counting these as the band that would have headed and go onto head R&L next year, chances are going by last time that by June of this year they would of already been asked and deal in place etc if you go by them playing), and for the 3rd I'm not sure.

Someone else also put that bar 2009 and 2011, every year since 2007 a header has gone on to lay R&L the following year, 5 out of 7 is pretty regular.

Good point. You yourself would be a better example but fuck knows if you're right. :P

I get all that but I don't think they'd be agreeing to festival slots already if what they're guessing at the moment is that it's not until the next calendar year. Also if you wanna list all the bands that headlined the festival after releasing an album rather than the same couple of examples of it being the other way round then go ahead. :P

I do agree. 2017 as VCK says is more likely. Biffy and AF isn't a bad shout actually.

Starting to think Biffy could well do 2016, personally. Just because of a seemingly shrinking number of fests that could have them headline. Or perhaps they'll just slip below headline status again sooner than expected, but even I think that'd be premature.

This is pretty much why I have been going with Biffy for Reading... only other fest I could really see them doing if it goes ahead is Sonisphere but that seems very unlikely. Would say they haven't really lost any momentum by taking a year off.

If Reading do this and book again after 3 years they will start falling into a trap. Biffy are big for the fest but it's not as if they are a huge band. Reading will start heading towards V where it'll be returns every 2/3 years, what Download has and people get tired of seeing acts repeated to quick. The festival will start to stagnate on numbers even more so. Based on recent Glasto Biffy info, I'm going for BST on an Exclusive booking, then T & Reading the following.

They'll do T in 2017.

Neil must have info he can't say yet for FF in some way and I agree that both even if F and Biffy could do Glasto int he same year, Biffy would be overshadowed especially given it'll be a U2 type booking and that would be a silly move for Biffy. I think Biffy will do the weekend before Glasto like The Libs did last year and Blur did this year and on the Saturday to maximize sales. it'd be silly to put them on over Glasto weekend. You you will have people that will still hold back as not a fan of HP but BST I found much better.

Biffy on an exclusive just isn't the sort of booking BST makes. If they relegated themselves to that on their festival run then they'd be better off just working out their own large gigs.

Also you should just go with the truth and say you stopped predicting Biffy for Glastonbury after hearing from Neil that they don't consider them a headliner rather than mumbo jumbo like 'Biffy wouldn't want to play alongside Foo Fighters'. :P

Look at the basis The Strokes were booked for BST?, they don't have to relegate themselves to it but one event out of 6 isn't exactly changing their ways is it.

Look at my previous posts dental?, look at my reply to SOAD, it says, 'based on recent Glasto info' so how have I not gone with the truth? That is the truth, that is what we were told. What 1 what are you trying to say and 2, why do you continue to make something out of nothing? Where did I say Biffy wouldn't want to play alongside FF?, I said they would be overshadowed and it may not be the best idea in terms of Biffy's interest.

The Strokes playing one UK show outside of a tour alongside one festival in Europe I think is pretty different to what Biffy Clyro will do, yes. It's just an event for a sloppily arranged extra payday and not one that's gonna grab regular festival headliners on exclusives on the first year of their album. I can't even see why Biffy playing R+L exclusively three years after last time with a new album would be worse than playing as probably their last festival of another exhausting tour four years after last time.

And fair enough but it did read a bit like that's what you were saying. I don't mean to go after you or anything; I just call out when people say dumb shit and it just so happens you say more of it. :P

If you actually read what I say instead of doing shit like this you'd realize it's actually not. Go after me all you want, not helping yourself out as you were wrong. It obviously didn't read a bit like that at all because you now have nothing to back up your claim after going back and seeing nothing you said had been posted.

You seem to be turning from one of the alright posters on here to someone actually looking and trying to call people out based on nothing.
