Lineup 2016

I think you have read my post wrong (no shock there). I didn't say Imagine Dragons to headline, I said if Foals can then Imagine Dragons can be considered as well, just like Hart Attack said.

As for the £20, there is no chance I will ever give anything towards Foals playing a headline show.

The post you responded to saying "I tried saying this ages ago" was Hart Attack justifying his prediction of Imagine Dragons headlining so, whether you realise it or not, that is what you were saying.

Maybe, but my comment wasn't based on the poster, my comment was based on the point of there being just as much argument for it and even when I 1st said it, based on those tour dates it is justified. This doesn't mean I think either should be heading, but I don't see how you can look at their tour dates and not see it. I don't think either should be above sub yet but ID tour is on par with Flo who is now headline level and present similar tour dates.

Slipknot headlining R&L would be awesome.

I second this, here's hoping this is why they've extended their tour and R&L is the final show.

I could live with Foo Fighters/Muse - Slipknot - Foals/F&TM, however I think it'll be Foals - Foo Fighters - Florence

On the Foals/ID situation I think both would be suitable for the demographic of headliners for R&L and the tours both suit it, R&L love to push up bands so I could see either being suitable to headline next year. However as Foals are a Melvin Benn favourite, as well as wanted to push them up I can see them being booked to do it as the headliner pool isn't huge and these bands need a push to become headliners. Although the tour is big I don't think Melvin will want to push ID up just yet and because they're fairly big in america and here on their second album there is demand for them so he will book Imagine Dragons at sub knowing that they could come back on the third album and headline.

I don't think, if I heard an Imagine Dragons song on the radio, I would know it was them before it was over. There's not been a R+L headliner in 20 years I could say that about.

Maybe I'm out of touch, it is a fairly ridiculous yardstick to measure by, but while they're definitely a large act, and suited to R+L, I don't think they're close to headline status.

Mind you, I thought they weren't going to do coheadliner bullshit or book Blink on a 4 year return, so what the fuck do I know?

I'm the same. I mean, I can see they're huge by chart placements and ticket sales, but they fly under my radar more than pretty much any current band around their size at the moment.

I swear half of imagine Dragons set is Radioactive, works well on the main stage though (add fireworks & lazers for a headline set).

Slipknot need to make a return to R&L after pulling out last time, was looking forward to that. Still annoyed they still went ahead with the aeroplane flypast to advertise their tour though.

You've never heard "RADIOACTIVE; RADIOACTIVE"? Count yourselves lucky.

Both times I wrote 'RADIOACTIVE' above I started typing radiohead and had to change it. I also did the same in this sentence.

Nah, but that's pretty much the extent of what I've seen about them. The Radioactive video, Radioactive on adverts, Radioactive featuring Kendrick Lamar, winning a Grammy while Radioactive plays on the PA, they were on Impractical Jokers and Radioactive was played in the background and also TV coverage of them playing Radioactive at festivals two years ago. Though I've had to swot up on them to be able to discuss them on these boards a bit, init.

But what I mean is, when bands get as popular as they are doing they usually seem to exist outside of just a song and get covered by some music media and grow dedicated fanbases and other stuff but I don't remember seeing much of that ever. I think if they were to be announced as headliners in the next few years, despite seemingly huge popularity, they would be unknown to a lot of people - including people who know Foals.
