Lineup 2016

Chase and status would definitely headline if they played, especially with a 4th album out by then. They're bigger than foals if anything.

Could they headline Creamfields / GG and the like? Sure. R&L? I don't think so. Their last album was an awful change in direction. Their first album was great but I fear after their fourth album it'd be played live even less. Skrillex would play higher these days.

Florence, Muse and Foals have to be the best bet right now right?

Glasto: Foo Fighters, Adele, Coldplay

Reading: Florence and the Machine, Muse, Foals

T in the Park: Muse, Florence/Calvin Harris, Mumford & Sons

V: Mumford & Sons, Bruno Mars

IOW: Foo Fighters (reason why Emily was unsure if they'd be back), Kasabian, The Libertines

Download: Biffy Clyro, Black Sabbath, Rammstein

Sonisphere: Bring Me The Horizon, Iron Maiden, Slipknot

Even if they sold out their arena tour in seconds, added ten more dates and sold all them out too, it'd be something else in the way of them headlining. Nobody cares about this shit except people that really don't want them there. Fact is their first arena tour has been on sale for under a week, and they're already doing a tour in November; nobody had to justify them headlining by saying something like "they'll get no. 1 and sell out their arena tour instantly" because nobody needed to. Besides, wouldn't they already be booked by now if they were set to headline?

I'm starting feel that 2016 is a too a rushed Foals headline step up. Their most recent material does have excellent production and they are beginning to sway a fair amount of people in becoming fans, but I mean compared to a band like Biffy Clyro, who lets face it were a step up in 2013, they have not much experience and stature in finishing off a night at one of the biggest festivals in the UK.

They pretty much have the same festival headlining pedigree as Biffy did before they headlined R+L. Plus, people said Biffy 'weren't big enough' and that 'their arena tour isn't selling quickly enough' and then look what happened.

Also your triangle is fucked up.

So what "experience and stature in finishing off a night at one of the biggest festivals in the UK" did Biffy have in 2013 that Foals don't have now?

A big one would be Sonisphere in 2011 along side the greats of Metallica and Slipknot.

The new forums has fucked up my triangle, and I can't edit the signature to something less space consuming at the moment. Is that ok with you?

I suppose it's open for debate. Biffy did surprise me a lot! In a way, I just feel that Biffy Clyro write better 'songs', 'ballads' and 'anthems' which help a lot in terms of headlining. I'm not putting a downer to Foals' music as a whole, I just feel Biffy Clyro have the slight edge regarding a rounded performance.

Don't be silly lol. Look at Biffy tour dates in 2013 before heading R&L?, without the arena dates previous. It's not others coming up with anything to knock it, it's you coming up with false lines like this to try and justify it.

And Foals have headlined Bestival. Unless you're suggesting that headlining alongside Metallica prepared them for "finishing off a night at one of the biggest festivals in the UK" better than if they hadn't?

And Slipknot are not 'greats'. Headlining alongside them wouldn't have helped prepare to headline R&L in any way.

What are you getting from  Biffy's 2013 tour dates?

What the hell are you on about now?

Edit: anyway the post you quoted isn't 'false' as Sonisphere and Bestival are a very similar size and so are Rock Ness and Latitude, so they pretty much do have the same festival headlining pedigree. I don't know what looking at their 2013 tour dates would do to change that.
