is anyone else thinking 5SOS? As much as I dislike them, they seem pretty likely for a headliner. They've got a new album just out, the hype surrounding them is absolutely massive and they're DESPERATE to be taken seriously as a "punk"/"alternative" band, surely R&L would help with their "we play pop music but we're not a pop band!! we're so punk!!!" image. Plus, they've done basically no festivals since exploding onto the scene, R&L seems like the place to start before moving onto the likes of V and Glasto?

Nah they're way too far down the pop band route to ever be in consideration for R+L or Glasto.

Haha MEGALOLZ

You used to be better than this.

"too far down the pop route" really? this year we had Bastille, who's far more pop than they are. I'd rather they didn't show up on the bill, definitely not fond of them at all but it's seeming more and more likely.

All I'm saying, is that I said the same thing about All Time Low last year and here we are.

All Time Low are a pop/punk band - a genre Reading/Leeds has always catered to

Bastille are a indie pop band - a genre Reading/Leeds has always catered to

5 Seconds Of Summer are a boy band masquerading as a pop/punk band because they play instruments. i'd be very surprised if it happened

Whether they want to be or not, 5SOS are seen as One Direction 2.0, they wouldn't get booked.

Bastille are popular with R&L's type of audience, 5SOS not so much.

I think (of course) that Biffy would be a good booking for next year, not sure their next album will be as popular as Opposites though.

Has something ruled them out of Glasto? I haven't been keeping up.

Difference being who they're marketed at. I probably couldn't tell the difference between ATL and 5SOS if both songs were played to me, but All Time Low have done R+L and Download since they started, and 5 Seconds of Summer started out as a One Direction support act.

Neil says Glasto don't consider Biffy big enough.

Nah, I reckon Biffy have a fair chance, their not doing Download and their almost definitely not doing Glastonbury, so, yeah.

I do as well, BST is still my prime guess but if Reading start booking 3 years later it'll be apparant that they too are running short of choices and I say this because they could afford to let Biffy go if they have an option as decent.

I wonder if Blur will still be around next year. They only seem to do something every three years ('09, '12, '15) but if they're still touring The Magic Whip then they could be in with a shout.

The guy who works on Gorilllaz animation has already stated next year will be all Gorillaz so you can probably ceoss Blur off for anything.

My only other predictions (considering nothing but the fact they'll have new material and there's a lack of summer touring schedule) are Tonight Alive, The 1975 and State Champs.

Are you being seriously! But thanks for making me laugh. I do not see let alone playing a small slot at reading because they are crap and it really annoys me as they keep saying their are not a boy band but they have been on tour on with 1D, have they own photo album, calendar and have done the teen awards so they have no integrity plus they are so Australian! Sorry but it is nice to have a rant no and again
