Lineup 2016

definitely don't see them as a IOW act - fall a bit too far in to Kerrang rock territory for that imo.

Maybe that's where their core demo would be but I don't think they're limited to that by any stretch. Plus, IOW had the Pretty Reckless and Fall Out Boy last year and YMAS this year who could be classed similarly. Just a suggestion anyway, I give no fucks whatsoever about IOW.

What other festivals are announcing? Just interested to know, nothing to do with 30STM

Nova Rock, Greenfield and Open'er I believe.

Slipknot seemed to have vanished from a lot of people's predictions recently, has there been an evidence to rule them out? Haven't played since 2002, back in the UK early next year and not at Download, seems to be as good a time as ever.

Them being in the UK in February doesn't mean anything for R&L. If they start announcing European festival dates for July/August that might bring them onto the radar.

I just them doing arena tour and Download this year and also a another arena tour this year there isn't much point in R&L booking them.

That looks like a very strong line up and I will pay good money to go to that weekend.

That clash between The Wonder Years followed by ADTR and Foals would be too much for me.

Also I'm down for Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes opening the main after last night

Looks like RHCP are being announced for Nova Rock today (Austrian paper announced it already) and likely Rock Am Ring's announcement today will include them.  So that's two early June festivals, and I'd imagine they'd be a runner for pinkpop  and possibly Werchter in early July so if people are expecting them at R and L's I'd say it's unlikely they'll be around that long.

I don't think people are and they probably won't ever be booked again lol.

looking at RHCP's tour dates from when they last played R/Ls they did a whole load of Euro shows/festivals in June/July and then came back over in August to do R/Ls. was right at the end of their tour so a bit different i guess, but wouldn't totally write them off yet

I don't think people are and they probably won't ever be booked again lol.

i think enough time's passed that they'd be welcomed back. hell, i bet most of the people who saw them at the festival last time have long since stopped going to it these days. plus wasn't their IOW set supposed to be pretty great? (by their standards, anyway)

Few names announced for RaR that might be relevant, Deftones, The 1975, Bullet, Korn, Of Mice and Men, all must have a chance

Hopefully and especially Deftones

I wouldn't use a festival taking place at the start of June to predict whether a US band will be around at the end of August.
