I think it is well within reason for Kanye to headline. The last hip hop/rap act to headline was eminem back in 2013 and that was really well recieved. Also, we were told of the announcement not long after Kanye dropped what looks like to be SWISH's lead single? Then as always its the case of Glastonbury's sloppy seconds. I have also seen Melvin explain how the festival is aimed at the youth or "kids", and nowadays almost everyone from 14-20 is wearing Yeezy branded clothes. Dont know, it just makes a lot of sense.

Also, isnt it a bit soon for biffy again? They havent released any new material since their last set, have they?

Biffy's new album is out in April so I'd imagine they'll be pretty close to dropping a single.

I know they were originally meant to be in the late May/Early June but binned that announcement when the Paris attacks happened. Not sure if those dates will still stand (it was apparently 2 nights at the O2) or if the tour was pushed back. They'll sell those out in a day anyway so it's not like that's a problem.

They're due a return to R&L though.

3rd album? Do you think these could play again if they do?

What's that got to do with a third album? Am I missing something here?

GnR apparently demanding £2million per show... To my shame and disappointment this pretty much puts them out of any running they had in the first place

I think they're actually asking for more.

I still live in hope, considering foals/disclosure will probably be one of the smaller prices it might open up a little extra in the budget? If they are asking for more then it's a pretty safe bet they're out of the equation

Saw a tweet from one of their tour crew saying something was coming on 26th January, let me try and find it.

Edit - Nevermind, turned out to be Mike Vennart (the 2nd guitarist for Biffy) saying something about his other band and an album launch.

I'm hoping some bands gets announced for The Pit/Lock Up this month.

Any of these would do me fine: Parkway Drive, Thrice, Deez Nuts, Grader, Real Friends, Creeper, Modern Baseball, Glassjaw, Man Overboard.

Yes on Creeper, Modern Baseball (double yes) and Glassjaw. Would also add to that list Spraynard (they're my new favourite band), Joyce Manor, Captain We're Sinking, The Story So Far, The Front Bottoms, Gnarwolves, Title Fight, The Hotelier, Arcane Roots, Pup, Four Year Strong, Knuckle Puck, Titus Andronicus, Set Your Goals, La Dispute, Forever Losing Sleep, Defeater, Heck, The World is a Beautiful Place... and of course The Wonder Years (Lock Up >>>>> Main). I'm probably going to be disappointed though :thumbsu:

Hoping they give Mastodon & Glassjaw LU/Pit headlining slots.

Titus Andronicus & Title Fight would be incredible bookings, couldn't see them ever booking TWIABP though.

And I reckon they're gonna give Wonder Years a main stage slot this year.

in terms of Biffy, they are in LA finishing their album, Si said in the Edinburgh interview that they are only out there until the end of this month. Unfortunately the Mike Vennart tweet is referring to British Theatre and not Biffy, however I do expect a biffy single within the next month. To conclude, I've got my money on Foals, which personally isn't what I would like.

If R&L are using Foals/Disclore as a double then they will 100% pay £2mil without question. As said, they paid The Libs the same, plus GNR and Blink reformation the same year.

Whoever gets announced as the header I'd say it's fairly likely Imagine Dragons are coming with them.

TSSF, Gnarwolves, La Dispute and FYS would be awesome! Might be a long shot, but I'd be really happy with A Great Big Pile Of Leaves showing up.

I also agree that I can see The Wonder Years getting a Main Stage slot.
