Sweet Mother of Moses, this is getting scary and depressing. This could be another 97, the official "year of mud"! Yes there's time to improve but it's right down to the line folks.

:resent:

My first year. Christ, 07 pales into insignificance.

Don't think it'll be that bad, we're just looking at a potentially bad Friday. It also depends when it rains. A downpour between 4am and 11am on the friday will have a far reduced impact on the ground than a downpour between 1pm - 9pm.

A downpour during the high footfall hours guarantee's mud.

Have only been since 2010 but I'd say...

2010 - 1

2011 - 6

2013 - 3

2014 - 7.5

Cheers. I was injured (broken collarbone) and therefore staying offsite in 2014 but in all honesty it didn't feel toooooo bad whilst on site (straw/clutch). My "Vietnam" was 2011. Watching Moz and U2 with the relentless rain driving in nearly pushed me over the edge.

The ground recovered fairly well last year, 2011 not so much. Plenty a ninja move was made avoiding falling in the mud that year

Nah, we had some rain Wednesday and very early Thursday morning (which was during sleep hours). Friday was pretty dire, but once it was done it disappeared

2014 it just never...went...away.

i just remember mud being a much bigger problem in 11

Thursday night particuarly in Shangri La felt like you were gonna pull your leg up and your severed foot would be just wedged in the mud

The Friday night was fucking grim. I went down to see DJ Shadow and after the set I put my poncho on inside out so it ended up wet on both sides. Trekking back to the other side of the night in the wind and rain was probably the only time I haven't enjoyed myself at Glastonbury. I ended up have an early night and thankfully it was much better on the Sunday.

The stickiness of the mud in 2011 was a pain in the arse though.

If memory serves 2011 was beautiful on the Tuesday, Wednesday was rainy

Can't remember Thursday

Friday was a pain in the arse as the day went on

Saturday I recall drying everything from the night before whilst sat in the top corner of the Pyramid field near the guardian sellers

Sunday, the walk from watching the Pierces in The Park to Paul Simon near killed me. About 1 million degrees C, claggy mud

Really? 2014 was fucking peasy.

I'll take 2014 again now for certain.

Delighted we're not in for another 2010, when the seas boiled, human flesh roasted off the bone and the mercury skyrocketed to about 22 degrees.

You REALLY didn't like 2010, did you Cali?

You did forget to mention the dust in your post, btw.
