Some crazy people here wanting a mud bath festival over a little bit of heat!

Problem I have with wet festivals is not that I can't deal with them or they're not 'fine', it's just a dry one is infinitely better. As covered above, being able to lounge around on the grass is a godsend.

Well at least it's going to be coldish. Last year was too warm to wear my waterproof coat. This year I can wear it 24/7 feeling happy I'm not sweating to death. And the sweat from my wellies will keep my feet warm! Good times all round.

This predicted wet weather is my mother's fault for buying me ponchos for Christmas.

So Jackone's forecast has gone from promising to potential mudbath in a day or so. Maybe he ought to spend less time poring over his charts and then he might have seen ex tropical storm Bill w*nking at us from outside the window.

It's going to be welly sucking hell next week.

Fuck me you lot are a bit black and white aren't you

Ach well. If it thins demand I can't really complain.

11th on the trot, never faltered. Only true crap one was '07 and I reckon that would have been just fine without t'evil ex drama

Still don't reckon it's looking like what I'd call a washout, just a standard issue mudfest at points with a chance it'll recover by the time we gotta drive out - totally passable

In my ever shifting compromise with the weather I now don't mind it raining as long as it only occurs between 7am and 11am.

I prefer your approach to the "better rains at night" nonsense from other people. More people are awake between 12-4 than 6-11.

The weather/ground condition will be good for when we leave? Sounds great. Can't wait to be getting sunburn in the coach queue after getting soaked during the weekend, which has happened more than once already.

But seriously, you know we love our hysteria in here.

7.0 on the scale. It's not looking good.

better than some of the 'the end of the world is nigh' posts we've been having here this evening. Jackone always thinks the mud is going to be worse than it is, I even think he was calling 2010 a 3 or 4 a couple of days before...

That friday is brutal - ".... with current estimates suggesting over half an inch of rain possible...."

we had 22mm of rain last year on the Saturday which is nigh on an inch, half an inch sounds a lot but isn't really a great deal

At this point, I'll take that. 8mm on Sunday isn't that bad, right?

8mm is fine on the last day as we all go home the next day, though The Who and The Chems together is just angering the weather gods again

I'm 100% blaming The Chemical Brothers and the Who on all this!

This is Foster in The Accused fucked!!!

^this, other than The Accused bit, until Sunday night at least...

The 18 GFS run has less 'green' low pressure on us - improvement!!! It's still all up for grabs!

Just watching that roll out too.  Does look nicer than earlier!   Monday looks heavier (fine with that), but Tuesday, Weds and Thursday seem dry and Friday looking a lot better than it was earlier.

Haha I've done one quagmire drive out in '07 - really don't wanna be doing that in my new field-inappropriate car :(

Dry in, dry out - rest who cares frankly, that's just clothing and spirit - but packing down wet kit in the wet and a muddy way out is horrendous experience

J10 has just given an update based on tonights improved readings;

"Certainly possible and while the pattern seems set, details may change as an quick example.

Tonight's GFS 18Hz run continues with the theme of heavy rain on Monday, But on Wednesday it looks much drier, and Friday has moderate rain rather than heavy rain.

This would mean much less rain overall and as such less mud, and more time for the site to dry out.

There will still be ups and downs, hopefully there will be more ups in the coming days."
