The BBC put the kaibosh (spelling?) on the heatwave predicted today - they reckon (London forecast at 7:30 today) that today will be nice then turn into rain/wind for a few days, Thursday and Friday the temperature will spike and we get some sun, then back to lower temps again next week.

I would take that weather outlook forecast for the fest though. Sun and lower temps please, 2010 was lovely but really fucked me over come the Saturday, I remember almost crying for joy when the breeze hit the site on Sunday!

I loved 2010, but then I took it easier as a result. My biggest expense that year was fruit smoothies. My daughter struggled by Sunday though.

I was once fucked up by heatwave weather (Phoenix 94) and got myself in a right state. Just a few weeks after my mate had done the same at Glastonbury so I should have known better. There is no worse pain than sunburnt backs of the knees and shins.

PEAK DELAYED

The BBC weather is the least reliable indicator outside of my nan's seaweed in the shed.

Keep the faith. Normally there has been some sort of indication of what sort of spring we've had, but it's been a sort of ambling, mixed bag which hasn't really got it's act together this year, so frankly anything could happen.

2010 was lovely on the Friday until I came across faint during Flo - had to be walked to the tap! After that proper had to take it easy. Sunday was great though, with the breeze!

I agree with the knees sunburnt, happened to me on the beach in Barcelona. Every step is like torture!

My friend went on her first camping trip today in Cornwall, they went off for dinner and came back to find one tent had flooded and the other had flown away.... they packed up what they could and headed straight home.... No options like that at glasto

I came back to to my tent having collapsed under the weight of all the rain/wind at IOW 2011. Luckily it was the Sunday evening though, so we could make a sharp exit.

I've studied all of the charts and historic trends. Here is my forecast for the week:

Tuesday: A blustery end to the day for some, with winds coming from the south-anus. Chances of vomit: low

Wednesday: A bright start with runny spells. Cloud and tents building until lunchtime. A relatively dry afternoon but with isolated ciders becoming more prolonged through the evening and overnight.

Thursday: Glorious farts and shitty intervals from the word go. Temperatures in my underpants will rise steadily to around 29 degrees by mid afternoon. Humidity high. Sweaty spells. Vomit levels: moderate to high.

Friday: a hazy start in camp, with head-fog lingering until noon for some. Ciders will become persistent through the afternoon and may give way to skittles vodka by dusk. Outside chance of chundery showers overnight, with my mate Steve looking most likely to be affected.

Saturday: dense fog early on will make drinking conditions difficult. Muggy day for Steve, but a light whinge may develop and take the edge off those temperatures. Chundery showers again developing through the evening, and early indications suggest that Steve may see the highest totals since records began.

Sunday: some uncertainty at present, but have your goggles at the ready because this may be a wet one. Torrential piss with potential for flooding in low lying urinals.
