I'm still feeling blindly optimistic. Who's with me?!

Oh absolutely.

I have a brilliant luck track-record when it comes to festival weather, the only horro story being Green Man 2012 - not a blade of grass on site by Saturday afternoon. Running from Dark Dark Dark to The Wave Pictures in too-small wellies was a bloody nightmare. Like one of those awful warrior mud run things. but more awful!

So, I am completely unshakably convinced that GF2015 is going to be just fine, weather-wise. There's no way her ladyship Mother N would put the (literal) dampener on my first Glastonbury.

:)

People who thought 2010 was too hot are like people who like the courteeners, i sort of know these folks exist and i'm sure they're nice people and that but i'm just never going to understand why they're coming from when they try to explain it.

Brilliant.

You said it all, man.

Do we have one of these charts for previous years?

I spend a lot of time checking weather forecasts coming up to bike races, I can honestly tell you two weeks notice is far to much time for even the best forecasters to predict accurately what the weather will be doing, even 2 days is a challenge,

I have all the faith that the British Weather will do what it wants on the day.

I can see both sides. In 2010 there were definitely periods where I was desperate for cloud cover and even (dare I say) a light shower, to cool me down. This was by no means to the extreme of praying to the sun gods when it's depressingly damp. I'd take 2010 again in a heartbeat over of any Glastonbury weather I've been at the mercy of in the past.

Definitely. A couple of mornings after being forced out the tent we actually walked 10 minutes or so to my mate's car in the car park and kicked a football about / sat in the air con for a couple of hours. I could manage a few drinks in the day but after 7pm it was fantastic. Much rather that than rain.

What is this "too hot" nonsense you speak of... It can't be too hot!!!

It can. Constant fear of sun/heat stroke isn't fun. Having to constantly drink water and not being able to drink alcohol for fear of dehydration isn't fun. Feeling ill isn't fun.

That was 2010 (and Bestival 12) in a nutshell for me.

I notice that Pilton has around 50mm of rain forecast for this Friday. Despite the fact this will obviously impact the site, it will mean that'll we'll have more or less the average monthly rainfall for Pilton in one day (I believe it's about 60mm in June). So statistically speaking, we're going to be fine... aren't we?!

N.B. I appreciate statistics have no say in the weather.... just trying to put a positive spin on the current doom and gloom!

Not really ive been following the model outputs and some pretty haeavy rain ha been forcast to hit the uk around the 13th for about a week or more now.

I never said they didn't predict rain or how heavy it was, I said they have just put out a weather warning today for Friday! Which is 2 days away, I've been following it as I'm around that way this weekend

Does seem to be a trend of heavy weather coming in this weekend, which is probably around the perfect time if you're of the 'get it out of the way' persuasion.

Jackone's comments on Netweather last night give me a bit of hope despite accuweather's predictions this morning that the crap weather will get out of the way next week and a bit of high pressure will come in before and during the festival. Here's hoping anyway.

Just watched the worthy fm weather report of 2011 on YouTube to cheer myself up a bit. Can't post a link off my phone to share with anyone who hasn't seen it but I'm sure someone can do. It's priceless.

I remember that well! Massive deep puddles everywhere & a very unconvincing faceless voice saying 'conditions on site are great!'.
