I`m going to Wicket again this year I think as we are taking the weans. Was perfect for us in 2013. Can any other Wicket goers recommend what car park we should use ( got the bus down last time ). Not arriving till Thursday night so know I`m not going to get close to the entrance.

I've not a clue as to where to camp this year, I've camped in Park Home 2013, Oxlyers 2008 and last year SouthPark...

Might try out the other side of the festival this year... Not sure where though! :/

I need me some staff to carry and put my tent up for me, then cook brekkie each day :)

What is the field opposite the Beat Hotel like? We like somewhere with a lot going on and aren't particularly bothered about peace and quiet, does it fill up quick?

Camped in Oxylers in 2013, tried to in 2014, but ended up being moved as they had to move about 1000 tents away from the path, had absolutely all our gear (about 7 tents and a teepee) on the back of a tractor whilst the Kaiser Chiefs opened the Other Stage. Was fairly surrealy.

we manage to get a space between 10 and 11 the last 5 Glastos but after that think you might struggle, maybe space for smaller tent or a couple . but limited . Beat hotel noise is till about 3 ish I seem to remember but never bothers me as the hum from the pylons sends me to sleep

In 2013 I camped in Park Home Ground. Last year our group decided in advance that avoiding that area would be best due to the reduced space and proximity to the relocated Arcadia. We had decided on Dairy Ground but due to my brother-in-law and nephew massively over-packing and one of the wheels coming off their (newly bought) heavy duty trolley we ended up a lot closer to Gate D in one of the South Park areas.

As it's just myself and the father this year on the coach, we'll no doubt be shooting for somewhere fairly close to Gate A. Most likely Woodsies or Darble, providing they're not full by around six or seven on Wednesday evening.

Aimed for Pennards last year from the coach entrance, got there for 7am probably didn't get through till 8:30/9... By the time we got over there it look full up so we ended up in Park Home? (North of Arcadia) Next to Arcadia close to the park, stone circle, the other stage, can be on the railway straight away heading towards the other side of the festival so not too bad at all!

Is Pennards less full higher up? Saw it in the distance packed early on so just gave it a miss

Have always camped in Darble and Pylon Mead, this year thinking of getting closer to the Park and Arcadia as this is where we end up a lot by the end of the night. Does anyone know if the Dairy ground is nice and hilly? I'm assuming it is as its by the Park but just want to know as i like to be high up to avoid any flooding!

I'm a convert to (north) Kidney Mead, have camped there the last 2 years. Ivan did a great job of describing exactly why (he was talking about Big Ground, but the same applies).

Kidney Mead have found plenty of space for a 4 person tent. I would say the latest you could pitch more than that would probably be around midday..maybe a little later if you're happy to move up the hill/further away from the tracks. I'm not a big Pyramid watcher, but waking up to the sound of the first few acts is excellent, and one of the reasons I can't imagine camping anywhere else now. Also very convenient if you're watching a headliner to nip back to the tent for clothes/booze/supplies for post-headliner revelling.

Prior to that I used to arrive a little later on Wednesday or early on Thursday and had made Bushy Ground my home. It is a little further out, but has a great vibe, and you can actually get some rest. Would definitely recommend it to later arrivals. Also tried South park once but that was too much of a trek from everything for me.

Edit: I got mixed up

Kidney Mead by the middle track opposite the Lock up and security tent / tower. This is the spot we normally aim for and have camped since 2010. One of us is doing the early Wednesday overnight slot to get a position with the rest following in at around 9am Wed. He'll throw done the tents and we'll bring in the rest :), sounds a good plan.

I see a few folk have mentioned that the trek from South Park is a bit much. Is that referring to the Pyramid? Looking at the map, it looks like it should be fine for the Park stage, West Holts and the SE corner, but that's based purely on the map, so maybe I'm missing a long fence or massive cliff or something?

When I tent it its always up at the back of Michael Mead. Near the Pyramid, can get to the Other, West Holts etc quickly and when you fancy a kip you're away from the noise of the naughty corner.

Camped here last year and thought it was great, will be trying to get a spot there again this year.

Fairly close lockups and toilets as well and nice view down over the site.

Used to always camp in Park Home and absolutely loved it. Really nice atmosphere, always met fun people, could sleep when we needed to. Camped in Oxlyers for the first time last year as we had a massive group and was worried we wouldn't find space in Park Home and have to say it was pretty good, a bit further of a walk from SE Corner but managed to get space for 10 tent tents getting to the field for 8.30am. Would recommend both. Not sure how different Park Home would be now with Arcadia up there now.

anyone ever camped in row mead or kidney mead? by map they look like theyd have an awesome view of the pyramid but must get busy fast eh? 2013 I camped in hawkwell/micheals mead and we had a nice chilled out area and a great spot at the back on the grass bank where you could overlook the whole site.....like the park hill but from the other side. Last year I camped with friends who have been going for ages and camping in the same spot, just so happened this time around that spot was park home very near to arcadia.....it was fun but didnt sleep much.

Havnt a clue what I want to do this year, same friends are going and I could camp with them but I feel like exporing, I want somewhere chilled out and friendly but not to far away....any recs?

Camped in Kidney Mead (good vibe), Wickets (quiet but out the way) & Row Mead numerous times (fantastic view & vibe) as well as staying offsite in Worthy View. Row Mead was my favourite, but it's at the other end of the site to where I mostly am in the late hours, so it's usually a pissed up mission back each night. I always loved chilling on the Pyramid field before bed when it was quiet and there weren't many people about.

Done Pennard twice and it's great for location. Mad busy both years though. Got in 9am Weds last year and it was basically full by the time we got there and got lucky in 2013 with a friend who used her dad's local pass to get in through a side gate and bag some space for us before we got there around lunchtime.

Doing Worthy View this year to avoid the 28 mile walk from the car park with tent and everything else. Will be different. Won't miss the walk.
