That dress

It's light blue and gold in the pic everybody getting exited about & we all argued in this house about what colour it is. I'm probably too thick to understand but it's clearly blue and black in other pictures you look at. Oh yeah, it's all this light condition and retina cone thing, yeh.

For me, it's very clearly white and gold. I can sort of understand the blue, especially on the lower part of the dress due to the lighting making the white seem very light blue, but I can't understand how there can be any black on that dress. We we're discussing it at work tonight. Two of us saw white and gold and two others black and blue.

It is strange how it has complete taken the internet over though.

Same here. The white / blue debate is understandable. The gold / black debate is unfathomable to me, because there is just no way that it could be black at all.

I've seen it as both but mostly Black and Blue now I know what its supposed to be :P

What I don't understand why the vast majority of people, seemed to argue the case like they have never heard of an optical illusion/trick of the light before?! Seems strange how angry people were getting over it!

I don't know about angry, but with most optical illusions you can switch perceptions. With this, for a start, most people can only see one thing or another, and also people are getting told they're either right or wrong.

it's fascinating and disturbing, because it emphasised differences in perception.

I've always wondered whether personal taste is based on differences in perception rather than preference.
