Hey everyone! So I just booked my tickets for the Reading Festival, and i'm gonna be headed there alone so i'm looking for some mates to chill and have a drink with. I'm gonna have a tent that fits two adults as well and I want to know where would be the best place to set it up. I'm gonna be on this forum practically everyday till I land in London on the 20th of August, and if there's anyone that would like to meet up the week before the festival as well i'd always love to have someone to sight see with since it's my first time in the UK as well! Cheers guys, can't wait for the festival it's gonna be insane.

Add me up on snapchat (GeeBeeEs) if you guys wanna have a chat, or if you're in a similar position as me so we can start planning things out!

Cheers!

Feel free to camp with us if you like! Orange E :)

Thank you! I'll be on the lookout for your flag during the festival, let's make our campsite the wildest one considering it's fucking huge so far hahahah

Hi guys,

I will be coming reading festival on the Saturday for the day. I am also coming alone which doesn't bother me so much but would be cool to meet up with fellow going alone guys. I know a lot of you guys are camping but would there be any plans to meet up in the arena. I am up for just having a right laugh and seeing lots of great acts.

It depends which bands your keen on seeing. I've listed mine in an earlier thread :)

catfish and the bottle men I would like to see, Royal Blood, Rebel Sound just to name 3 plus more and i would enjoy seeing any random new acts as well or even the other stages as all will be fun. I have broad music library :)

I'll be on the lookout for you during Catfish & the bottlemen :D

I think we should all create a chat group that we can use during the festival to keep track of each other, anyone know any good apps that can do that? maybe whatsapp or facebook if everyone's willing to give me their details I could create the group

Hey all,

Sorry for gatecrashing - I'll be coming alone this year, all of my friends have pulled out for one reason or another, which sucks as Metallica haven't been there since '08. Would you guys mind me joining you in Orange? I'm 25 and not exactly a reading newbie (this will be my 8th time, but my first alone). I'm not quite sure I'd fit in with the GCSE'ers in the other group tbh!

I'll be most likely catching a train early on Thursday morning from London, and I'm happy to meet up beforehand - I'm normally in London for work most days.

Edit:

For those worried about nicking tents and what have you, I wouldn't. People don't nick tents from a crowd (other than perhaps monday morning). The only commodity that will really go missing is beer, and the occasional chair. Putting your chair in your tent normally solves the second, and in 8 years I've had 2 or so crates of beer go walkabout - definitely not enough to worry about tagging stuff or ruining your weekend.

The silent disco is good most nights, but has off days. There's one in orange and one in red, and from last year one in the arena itself which i've never been to. If you want to skip the queue for the disco, leave the arena 5 minutes or so before the headliners finish and you'll walk right in.
