Awesome, cheers guys - didn't fancy this year being the first I didn't go! Current plan is to get down as early as possible on Thursday, but I might have a chance to get an EE ticket, so I'll see (guy tends to be unreliable but does sometimes come through - I've booked Wednesday off work anyway as I won't be much use!). If I can get down on Wednesday I'll probably arrive around 1-2 as that's when they normally give up and let people in! I'd rather do this as I'm really not an early person, and the queues build up pretty quick on Thursday, but we'll see.

 

If there's any additional supplies the group needs let me know, it's only fair I contribute to the collective snacks/random festival crap collection, maybe a gazebo or something - I might still have our bright green one from last year!

If there's anything you guys would like me to get please let me know since I can't supply much in terms of festival gear since i'm flying in from the UAE just for this festival hahah but I can get anything in terms of booze or munchies. Let me know if there's anything else. I was thinking of getting my guitar for some campfire music but I'd be worried about it getting stolen while i'm out on stage. what do you guys think?

Looks like we have some hell of a crowd, no one is permitted to dance alone - we'll alll chill out and dance and drink together with no exceptions. "Go hard or go home" seems applicable but instead use it as "have fun or head home."

Start off on Radio1 stage:

Parquet courts, the districts, swim deep, peace, run the jewels.

Later move over to the Dance tent: my nu leng, Jacob plant, Dillon Francis, Hannah wants,

Finish up with Festival republic: , django django.

Also there are some decent dj sets at the alternative stage

Saturday I'll probably be fucked from overdoing it Friday. So I'll just go with the flow

Dance tent: second city (ok), mk

Bit tough this one as lots of clashes but

Best laid plans and all that. Went to v one year and saw no bands at all, spent the whole time in the barcardi bar and dance tent

Btw - a rather strange yet EXTREMELY helpful piece of advice for the guys;

 

ONLY WEAR TIGHT BOXERS!!!!

 

I learnt this in '13 because what you'll find is after a few hours of repeatedly jumping up and down and raving is that your balls will be aching worse than a bad tooth.

 

Times that by 3 full days of jumping up and down and you will feel like going to A&E...

A few of you here are seeing My Nu Leng. There is a bar to the left of the dance tent you can meet at. Easier to get closer from that side too & a lot of people chill out by the fencing that faces towards the tent. Sound is a bit crap there but you can sit down & have a chat.

 

Just posted this in another thread, some other stuff going on...

 

I've been in the Alternative stage until at least 2am before.

 

They had the "swap shop" where you take your clothes off & throw them on stage & Oxfam people dressed up in fancy dress swap them for  second hand clothes so you end up wearing some random stuff.

 

Then Goldierocks did a DJ set followed by a woman dressed in a spaceman outfit coming out on stage to do a burlesque striptease. Was an awesome night.

There used to be an organised pillow fight at Reaper's Bridge but don't think tht happens anymore, it was carnage.

 

No more trolley (like a game of chicken mixed jousting) or fire trolley (like a game of chicken mixed jousting but the trolley is on fire) at night these days as security & Tesco seem to have cracked down on trolley thefts & out of control fires. Head towards anything that sounds like this for a good time.

 

Some illegal wrestling matches have popped up along the lanes before which is always a good laugh.

Usually pulls a big crowd.

 

I also forgot "angry mob" (a big crowd of people walking around the lanes shouting & stopping at random bonfires along the way), "portarave" (a massive crowd of people, sometimes in the thousands,  following a bloke with a boom box) & "hill" (where as many people try & stand on the little hill at Henry's Gate whilst security shout at people to get down).

There's also drummers & occasionally some stuff gets burnt.
